I highly recommend taking her class. As long as you complete all the assignments you will get an A. It was very manageable. She gives great feedback and always offers extra help if you need it. She also offers lots of extra credit opportunities. Take this class, you won't regret it!!

Yolanda was marvelous and made all of her expectations clear. I feel that we could have purchased just the Supersite code (online text is included) to have saved the cost of a textbook. Lots of reading and interaction with her and fellow students. (Oral presentations required.) This class will leave you speaking and writing more confidently.

One of the nicest teachers Ive had! She is so understanding about anything and truly wants you to succeed. There is A LOT of small assignments but nothing hard at all. The only down fall was the book costed $175 with a code however, that may be the case for all language classes. Shes is the sweetest! Take her !

Foreign language classes scare me to death. I nearly talked myself into dropping out rather than taking this class. Prof. Hern. made the class fun and I actually looked forward to going. Her teaching style is amazing, and I actually understood the material without the intimidation factor. She has set the bar high for the other SPAN classes i need.

She is an amazing professor. Really passionate about the subject she teaches. Class consists of supersite assignments due twice a week. Super easy no more than 2 hours of your day. 5 easy discussions plus 2 replies and 4 oral discussions. 3 quizzes, midterm, and a final. She gives study guides that tells you exactly what will be on the tests.

Shes a great professor! Too bad Im absolutely terrible at Spanish, but using the book you can get through all supersite homeworks and quizzes with As. The final is in person but if you Ace all the assignments you can rest easy on the in person final.

45-80 homework assignments in super site for every lesson, so don't procrastinate. The tests weren't that hard if you did the study guide. She's a fair grader. She drops the lowest lectura (reading assignment) and oral. She really took the time to help me improve my speaking through video chat and was understanding of technical issues. Love her!!

To learn a language you must put in the time. There is a website you use from the online code from the textbook to learn Spanish. I'd say the class is super easy for a Spanish speaker. It's an easy A. As long as you follow instructions for the recording you should get full credit. This class would be perfect to take while taking a Biology course.

Wonderful professor. Gives you everything she possibly can to help you succeed. Learning a new language can be hard but she really does try her heart out to help you learn. I was really bummed to learn that she isn't teaching the next Spanish class I need. I highly recommend her! Just a fabulous teacher that makes a difficult subject easier.

She was very understanding and nice. The discussions were very easy. The other assignments were ok as well but I've taken Spanish prior to this class. For beginners, she provides all these wonderful videos and tools to help you learn. Was very generous when it came to grading speaking assignments. Great advice was all she ever gave me. Amazing!!

Truly wonderful educator. Just finished 4-wk session and cannot thank Prof. Yolanda enough for making 4-hour/day, M-Th intensive course so enjoyable and worthwhile. Can only imagine how great it would be to have her for normal, 16-week course. Very understanding, supportive, sweet person. Boosts confidence of each student, no matter his/her level.

Yolanda Hernandez is one of the best professors I have had in my 2 years at CSN. She is easy going and helps with confidence. I am nowhere near a native Spanish speaker but she create an atmosphere where all can thrive. There is a lot of homework but as long as you do it and show up you will be fine. The 4week summer session was fast but worth it.

Yolanda is AWESOME! Her grading and assignments were consistent; online homework due twice a week, occasional quiz, midterm/final, and three online partner sessions. She communicates with the class regularly and emails quickly. Her class did not even feel like it was online. I will miss her!!!!

Profesora Yolanda is an incredible professor. She's very helpful and really kind. She's patient and will help you if you're struggling. I enjoyed her class, she's really funny too and makes the class interesting. She doesn't only read off the book like other professors. I would take her again, and I recommend anyone to take her.
