Prof. Fieldsteel is one of the best math teachers I've ever had. His lectures are interesting and you just don't want to miss them. He has the balls to explain things using sometimes childish language and analogies in a college-level class, making things much more simpler and clearer.

Homework is tough, and the exams are essentially watered down versions of them. If you put the work into it, this is definitely a very doable class. Fieldsteel teaches this class very well, with passion.

Clearly a nerd for his subject- he once said that one's life is not complete without seeing a certain ancient proof which he called "beautiful." However, not the best suited teacher for an intro math class. Lectures often did not match up with the problems we were assigned. Kind of confusing. Definitely dry.

He's an enthusiastic lecturer, and he's always available for help. Classes are spent going over homework problems or going over the same examples where different approaches to the same concept would be more useful. Written homework solutions are provided, but are so thorough it's confusing. Curves at the end of the semester.

No need to go to lectures. Stay home, sleep in, have yourself a mojito and skim the textbook. One of the most reasonable curriculum I think I've seen at this school. No curve balls here, do the work and you'll know the material and do fine on the test. Every course should be like this.

A nice guy, but totally useless as an advisor. I don't think he even noticed when I was kicked out of school. Met with me once a semeter to rubber-stamp my course registration, never asked about my grades when they started to sag. Never offered advice either - he just wanted me out of his office as fast as possible.
