Honestly, I didnt think he was all that great. He is nice and respectful to students, but an arbitrary grader with little feedback. He knows the subject well, it is really difficult for students who arent pols majors to get through the course.

Cigler has a great conversational teaching style. He's nice enough, and fairly clear. The logistics of the class are the only problem. He provides exams questions beforehand, but is a somewhat arbitrary grader. I'd suggest carefully catering your writing. Beware, he's been around a long time, and isn't terribly interested in students' ideas.

Comment:

I'm not that interested in poli sci, but he is usually interesting to listen to. He definitely likes to hear students' opinions and talk to them outside of class. Has some very interesting views on politics - he doesn't really talk liberal or conservative, it's more "how things work" behind the scenes. Not "how a bill becomes law." Good teacher.

Cigler is the nicest professor in the department. He always has time for students and loves to cultivate realtionships with them outside of class. He has helped me numerous times and I trust his opinion greatly.

Cigler rules, he makes class interesting and worth going to. It's the first class in college I feel guilty about skipping when I do just becuase I think he deserves showing up for. Great teacher, great lecturer. Wants to honestly hear your opinions and what you think. Take his classes
