Comment:
lower level physics classes should be mostly learning how to solve the homework problems and test problems. Instead Andrew makes it a point to waste everyones time by doing a bad job explaining concepts. Sometimes he might go over a problem or two but its not enough to help you understand how to complete the homework or do well on the tests.

Exam material, lecture material, and homework material are three separate hands that don't know what the others are doing. Expert TA docks you for taking advantage of hints that turn out to be unhelpful for the most part. Doing well on reading quizzes aren't an indication that you're doing well in the class, but definitely help.

Dr. Cornelius is pretty amazing when it comes to upper level physics. His knowledge made for a truly difficult course to be tolerable. Lectures are based off of concepts in the book, so reading is crucial to understanding the material. Not very accessible outside lecture times. Office hours are almost non-existent.

Choose the good reviews. Now look at the levels of difficulty. He's a great professor but Physics is generally a tough subject. This is why the average grade for every physics class is lower than other subjects. I suggest take his class, no matter what grade you get, don't look back because you probably passed the class with a C.

I took his class because I've heard of people saying that his class is the "easy one." Please don't be fooled because if you think you'll do bad in another profs. class i.e., Chen's class, you'll do equally as bad. That's not the prof's fault its yours. Funny lectures, touch subject, overall tough class.

He's basically a hot and cold situation. His lectures are fun and enjoyable, but his tests are pretty tough. He also uses iClickers and his HW's are tough since they are online. I hate having to spend money for HW. I took him for 181, I wonder how tough his 182 class is?

Taking Cornelius for 152 was worth my time, but this doesn't mean his class was easy. No sir. Online HWs sucked for me. His lectures were great, but his exams were tough. I ended up with a B-. If you're thinking about retaking his class for a better grade, beware.

Take this class. Physics department sucks but this class allows a lot of flexibility with homework and in class quizzes. It can really help your grade. He also drops a test grade. Also the grading scale is ridiculous (much like other physics classes) and will help you pass the class even if you do horrible. Just study by doing test banks.

I left a detailed review in order to help students properly prepare for the course, but it was deleted since it wasn't praising the professor. The reason for this professor's high rating is simply because someone trolls this seeking to delete anything that's not a 4 or higher overall. Maybe if I put a 4, this one will stay. Quite unfortunate.

I was sort of disappointed that he wasn't four days late with our final grades. With that said, he was pretty straightforward. He didn't do any math problems the first 34ths of the semester, which made the tests quite difficult to navigate. However, his grading scale is VERY generous. He's the best option at UNLV for Physics.

Difficult material and moves very quickly. Daily iclicker quizzes. Says he doesn't curve but I felt the curve was very significant. Do all the HW for mastering physics and you will most likely pass even if you bombed all the exams. Final is cumulative but consists of true/false and multiple choice. Very fair and overall nice guy.

Good teacher; always willing to answer questions. The material moves very fast, though, so you WILL have to work outside of class to master it. Hard material; tests were difficult but the grading curve was very generous. Loved his use of trivia for extra credit, and the live demonstrations he used for the class kept us awake. Awesome all around.

Great teacher. Always willing to answer questions. The methods for circuit analysis in this class are different than what they teach in EE220 (and the signs are opposite!), and if you do the problem the EE way and still get the right answer, he'll mark you off... so that sucks. Other than that though, I loved his class.

Tough material, and it moves fast. In my opinion one of te best at Unlv for physics I would take another class with him. Make sure to double check your grading the GA's do most of it good luck.

He's a great professor for the subject which I had no interest in, and he does a great job with in class demonstrations. It's hard not to pass the class, 65%=C. I highly recommend him. He's funny and laid back, very easy to talk to, and really knows what he's talking about, but can dumb it down for us non-electrical people.
