Comment:
He was horrible from beginning to end. He jumps through chapters in the book and spends most of the class time covering homework. He only covered 4 chapters within 15 weeks and the final test was nothing he taught us in class.

Comment:
Gives tons of extra credit. Each test has one e/c question and he offers to give you the higher grade if you're between two letters when you answer problems on the board a few times throughout the semester. Goes off on tangents a lot and is kind of hard to follow sometimes. He's funny and he gives students every opportunity to succeed

Professor Reil class was not easy but was not extrememly diffcuilt to pass at the same time. I took him in a 7wk summer course. His teaching style is at a quick pace and if you are not paying attention you can easily get lost. On the other hand, he always make sure no one has questions before moving on to another section. Just pay great attention!

I don't want to be mean or anything, but his class was a joke. If you want an A easily take his class, but if your taking a higher math it won't do you any good to take this class in the long run. He is a really nice guy though.

Take this class for an easy A. If you plan to be a math major, or like the challenge of math, DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE. Took this class back in the summer. Reil did not even have a syllabus. That probably is because teaching math is just a hobby to him, he has a day job,(lawyer), always late cause of it, but he is still accessible by phone.

If you are taking this class simply to get 118 out of the way, take him. He makes the subject clear, fun, and interesting. However, he doesnt get through much. Just had him and we didnt even cover the quadratic equation or polynomials. If you will be going on to higher level Maths, do not take him.

Do not take this class. You will not learn anything especially if you want to go on to Math 162 and beyond. I had him in Fall '03 and we only went up to Chap 2 in the book. We should have gone up to Chap 5.
