I had Dr. Winstead for History 108 and 109. He is a great teacher. I have to warn you he shouts very loud. He gets very involved into his lectures. TAKE LOTS OF NOTES!! His test all are Essay based. The more you know the better. I love that he gives you a review sheet with what will be on test test. So you know what to study and what to know!

Dr. Winstead is a very nice man! He is very opinionated but incredibly knowledgeable! If you have an A average and good attendance you're excused from the final. His tests are all essay (not a paragraph, a page) so STUDY. He's tries to help in anyway he can. One of the best teachers I've had.

Amazing teacher. I do enjoy history but he sincerely makes me want to learn. This, however, is not the case for all students. Winstead's class is heavily lecture and note based and ALL exams are essay but if you can pay attention and care about history don't pass this class up.

Enjoyable class...he talks like a History Channel narrator. His lectures are sometimes boring and long and you must take your notes. I did poor on the first 2 tests because studying for them is confusing. I sometimes think he should teach English because all of his tests are in essay form and he's very particular about spelling and grammar.

By far, the best professor I have ever had! Not only do you learn stuff from the class but he will go out of his way to help you with other matters. It has been 2 years since I had him, but I would still go to him today for help!! There are a lot of notes though!

Take a lot of notes, ALOT! But he is a great teacher. His tests are somewhat easy if you study and do the study guide. If you come to class everyday or have an A you dont have to take the final! fun and nice professor!

You take lots of notes, but you actually learn something in his class. Not only that, he is willing to help and talk to absolutely anyone! One of the nicest teachers at MCC!
