The only grades we had were test but for every test he gave study guides that outlined the basics of said test. As long as youre organized and prepared for class youll pass.

Comment:

Blanton was a very interesting man but his lectures were hard to follow. He likes those who participate and gives typically only 3-4 tests before exams. DON'T be late for his class- if you are, just don't come. He will not hesitate to embarrass you. I REALLY stress to make sure to pay attention to lectures because his tests are 99% lecture info.

He was a great teacher and he knew his information very well. He wrote it on the board rather than just in a PowerPoint which helped a lot. He cracks jokes all the time in class and makes history very interesting. As long as you pay attention, you will be fine. He does give extra credit which can be very easy. Can be strict, but overall fun.

Bob Blanton is the best teacher a student could ask for. I have never experienced a lecture course that was so intriguing and interesting. This teacher made me want to learn more. He has a great wealth of knowledge on every subject he teaches. If he is not 100% sure of an answer, he will let you know that he is not perfect or all knowing.

One of the rudest teachers I have ever met. I had a concern about my grade and he did not care at all! He does not care about his students at all. He cusses at students, and he is SO nasty. He does know his material though. I hated him, but I learned a good bit.

I believe Mr. Blanton is a funny & informative teacher, but he has some insatiable need to remind everyone that he is in charge. I understand that we as students are there to learn from what he's saying, but gods help you if you talk or your phone goes off during class. He won't hesitate to berate the entirety of the class for minor disruptions.

An awesome teacher. Tests are hard because study guides don't help much but his lectures are very interesting and you will not be bored. Passed the class with a B+. OH and don't miss any days or he will drop you without hesitation.

Blanton is not only super intelligent but he is very connected to his lectures. He knows what he's talking about and he show's it through personal stories. His lectures are really enjoyable (coming from someone who absolutely hates history). He is sassy and says "dumbass" probably 10 times each day, he wears Hawaiian shirts everyday- that's a plus.

His lectures are long, but he makes them in to stories. He brings in his personal stories into all of his lectures. He travels all over the world so he shows you pictures of the places he talks about in lectures. He also makes things clear in "clear Dallas English" as he says. He is sassy but worth your time at Gaston. I wish I could take it again

Lectures very helpful, so come to the class. Gives study guides which are very detailed and comprehensive. If students spend a few hours on study guides, tests are an A-B. He is an amazing storyteller and made the class fun and funny.

Didn't really have to use the textbook for the class, everything was lecture based. Other than that, it was clear he really cared and got into the material. Tried often to find things in the modern world that students could relate to ancient history. Made all his own materials including tests and review guides.

This professor is one of my favorites at GC. He does a great job at explaining what he is teaching and also does great at comparing the lecture to current events. I would suggest you not leave this college without having him as a professor. He has a really great since of humor. If you pay attention and take notes you will have no problem.

Blanton, is the best teacher I have ever had in school. His class was hard. But it's college. If you attend class, take notes, and pay attention you will do well. I do recommend sitting on the front row of every class. Personally, I think he is extremely knowledgable and a hilarious professor. I never was bored in his class! Thanks Blanton!

I really enjoyed the class because his lectures are like story time and it keeps you into the class. One major fail was tardiness...if you are there later than 2 minutes he will shut the door and you are not allowed to come in. Tardies are not even allowed in his class...it made me miss a lot of information because parking can be hectic at Gaston.

good teacher I'm currently taking his class now and I really enjoy how he teaches. Hes very easy to understand and he likes to draw on the board alot, which helped me take notes.
