Dr. Neary is fantastic!!! She is one of my favorite professors of all time! She really makes you think about the information. If you don't like sociology don't take her class. She will push you out of your comfort zone so that you can really understand the perspective of others.

Her test questions don't indicate what she wants in your answers. She expects you to answer questions she didn't ask & will not help you outside of class. She offers little to no feedback & she won't expand on what little feedback she gives; she takes offense to being asked to do so. Fast grader. You'll learn a lot, but your grade won't reflect it.

Dr. Neary has a very dry sense of humor, often to the point where you aren't sure whether or not she is joking. She's a cool lady, and clearly has a passion for sociology. There are certainly easier professors, but if you really want to learn sociology, I would strongly recommend her.

Awesome teacher! Respect is a must but shouldn't it always be. Don't dare take out cell phone or show up late. Most ppl misunderstand her but her way of teaching forces one to reach higher level of learning.

My second class with this professor. She teaches materials but also teaches their practicality and essential uses. So glad I chose to try sociology out under her instruction. Changes your perspective on learning.

she sets high standards so students really learn materials. expectations are very clear and she's willing to help students any way she can. Thoroughly comprehensive instruction. If you want to learn and be engaged with materials, this course is a must. If you want an easy A, look elsewhere. If you are respectful, you shouldn't have a problem.

a wonderful woman that held high standards. if you don't want to know about sociology, don't take the class, it's that simple. if you do and if you are willing to work for it... she will go out of her way and spare her extra time to help you learn. She epitomizes the quintessential intellectual advocate.

She is a horrible professor and has an horrible attitude.I had to teach myself the whole semester.She tries to make everything complex. We only had 3 tests and she gives group work whenever she doesn't feel like teaching. My opinion, run if you want to actually enjoy going to class.

I really enjoyed Dr. Neary. If you can do what she asks of you, you can make an A. She is a harder teacher but you LEARN! What i've learned in her classes have helped me in my others. She does make exceptions if you deserve them. Theory is a hard class no matter what, but all you have to do is listen and you will get it.

Keep an open mind in her class. She isn't very helpful outside of class, and will not let athletes make up work they miss for games and such, but I did enjoy her. She is very opinionated, and if you are close minded, you should stay away from her class.
