Comment:
Richard is an MFT that is teaching a university course, which is becomes apparent really fast that hes more of a therapist and less of an instructor. Lectures are basically 3 hour guided tangents, flanked by discussion. He doesn't know his own grading very well, clarification on most things is vague, so don't expect much guidance. Kind person.

Took the online portion for Conflict in the Family. Hardly watched the lectures because they were dull, but the assignments were straight forward and fair. We were assigned online locker buddies for assignments as well. My partner did not submit a paper and therefore I could not write a review on it (and I lost marks because of that!!)

Easy assignments (he has a marker). Marks were fair. This was online so I would just have the lectures playing in the background while I did something else and just wrote the main points. He has a lot to say about family conflict, lots of stories. But I find him rude because he would talk over his students just so he can show off his knowledge.

He is a great prof. He is very helpful. He replies fast when you email him. Just ask if you don't understand something and he will clarify it to you. I recommend him.

Incredibly unprepared for lectures. He will silently read the textbook during the lecture before he talks about a subject, and then fills his talk with redundancies: "it may happen yearly, or perhaps a few times a year, or sometimes monthly, or several times a month, or even maybe weekly, or many days a week so it is daily,..." easy class but wow.

Awesome Prof! So sweet and funny. A very kind and gentle man who is very knowledgeable. Watch out though, he doesn't mark his own papers! He has a TA do it and she is a tough marker. I'm not sure that he does this for all of his semesters, but check it out first if it is concerning to you!

Loved this course. Plan on taking Conflict in the Family 2. The text is easy reading. There are essays to write but they are based on the text and his lectures. I watched the lectures online but wished I was in class because they were having way too much fun. He's down to earth and not "old school" like some of the other profs. Funny too!

Conflict in the Family II. I would just like to say that I would recommend anyone to his class. He is so kind, understanding and really enjoys what he lectures. I had a really good time being in his class. His assignments are straight forward, and fun. There is a book, but it is really cheap (20.00 new)

You can tell he likes what he teaches. He likes to make sure you know what you are good with the material...so he repeats himself a lot, but it proves helpful. Nice, and helpful.

A very compassionate and insightful professor. Not a hard marker - he is more interested in helping students develop self-awareness and insight into family conflict. Highly recommend his class if you want to LEARN something about yourself!!!

He is one of my favourites. Keeps class interesting and the topics are about real life issues. it is a very comfortable and small class and he makes the 3 hours go by fast. He is a "nice" marker too! I am heading for an A!!

Picks favourites. Very one-sided class. Older students have greater appreciation from him. Too much group work not enough teaching. Same thing every week. Boring. Somewhat creepy. Nice enough fellow, not my favourite prof. None of the con res prof's are amazing thus far.
