Madame Allamand is such a sweet and caring professor. She is an incredible intellectual writer and professor. I've learned a lot from her AND the class. This class fulfilled SAS core, but if you're going to sit there, watching tv on your laptop then you're missing out. The class itself is not hard but has a good amount of readings and papers.

I love Professor Allamand! I feel like I become more intelligent just by listening to her. She really sparked my interest more in French literature and thinking of the world differently. There is definitely a lot of reading to do, but she is very open to hearing different perspectives of readings. Definitely would take again and recommend!

Madame has been a joy to work with. Show up to class ready to learn and take notes and you will succeed. Her presentations are concise and give only the information that you will need for exams (there are 4 throughout the semester, no official midterm or final). She uses readings, films, ppts and more for engaging classes. Blessed to have had her.

For the person who rated Madame Allamand 5/15/06, you're completely absurd. This woman is amazing and she most definitely gives her students the chances to maximize their potential! She is amazing and always willing to help. She just as great as a teacher as Myriam Alami. I recommend you study with her. You will not regret it!

Brilliant professor. She's definately eager to get everyone involved and to appreciate literature. There was alot of busy/writing work for 215. She's not an easy grader, but you can do well. She explains everything in english if you go to her office hours, which are very informative. Overall a great professor, but challenging. You'll learn a lot.

I had Carole for Lit. I as well as this course. She is the sweetest woman and extremely knowledgeable. Though the material can be a bit tough at times, her ambition is to help her students truly appreciate and understand French literature. Very understanding and kind woman.
