Comment:
I took this professor for developmental biology, and it was probably one of the hardest classes I have taken. But, D'Asaro is an extremely intelligent professor who knows what he is talking about, and cares for his students. I learned more in this class than I have anywhere else, and it's things that will definitely help you in the medical field.

BSC 2011 Lab is NOT easy, and it took me half the semester to realize that Dr. D'Asaro was actually the best professor to have for this lab, not the worst. It was very confusing at the beginning, but I figured out that as long as you write down EVERYTHING he says and cram as much of it as possible into your brain, you will be fine.

Dr. D'Asaro is one of the best and most inspiration teachers I've had the fortune to study with. He brings a lifetime of knowledge and expertise as well as a true passion for biology, especially the study of Mollusks. If you pay attention and study hard you'll do well. Beyond the grade you'll have learned from one of the greats!

Dr. D'Asaro is a very smart man and approachable. He speaks fast so note taking can be difficult. The book is great for finding evidence exams are short essay but he covers all material in the exam through his lectures. Best thing to do is use a recorder and take notes from that. The course content is tough but is doable. He says what you study.

He is an awesome professor, he is tough, but if you are going into a science career you need to learn from people like him who will give you a reality check. I took Zoology and I got a D, but he even offered to let me write in Spanish and he would figure out how to grade it if was a language thing. I got an A in Developmental Biology.

He is terrible at lecturing. I studied my butt of and I truly understood the information, but I could never get quite what he wanted. Because of this I struggled through and barley passed. I'm a hard worker, and I take my school seriously and I was truly disappointed from this class

Do not be afraid of this class or Dr. D'asaro. The rumors are from people who suck at studying. He is super helpful and very straight-forward. He tells you exactly how to study and if you pay attention to his want for evidence based answers, you will do so much better in your other classes and in life. Just provide proof and participate.

He is a very difficult teacher in the way that he lectures and presents information. He did curve his tests and mentioned what was going to be on his tests. This class is no longer offered though.

Great professor. Took his class a couple of years ago and now in med school it has been a lot of help. His evidence-based methodology is very conducive to improve your chances of doing better in gradschool Although not an easy class, you will benefit the most from all the time put into studying. Work hard and it will pay off in your career.

Very difficult class and teacher. If you don't have to take it then don't, otherwise, good luck. Study a lot!!! He is a nice guy who will try to help if you ask. His lectures are very confusing, and it is very difficult to keep up with notes. I highly suggest recording his lectures! It is a very difficult class to pass, but it can be done.

This class if very difficult and takes a lot of effort. The first exam consisted of more than half of the class failing and that was with a 10 point curve. He is not very good in presenting the information to class. He speaks very fast and its really hard to takes notes. I recommend recording lectures. Good luck.

He was one of the most difficult teachers I have ever taken. He's very unhelpful and his lecture rarely helps you understand the material. He doesn't make his tests easy at all, but thankfully he curves them; however 68 students out of about 90 failed the first test. I made an A in the class, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.

Developmental taught by D'Asaro is honestly, a useless class. He's a nice guy who is obviously very smart, but he lacks the ability to adequately communicate the course material. His lectures are all over the place. I was unable to take consistent notes. Best way to pass is to get old tests and make sure the evidence is still valid. Good luck.

Very difficult course but a study guide is given with the syllabus. If solely this information is learned you most certainly can make an A or B in the class. I gave up reading the textbook and only did the study guide and received A's on all tests. Not a class for someone who can't study but not an impossible course either.

Worse professor I have ever had. There's no point in going to the lectures because he talks so fast you don't have time to take the notes. The study guide seems helpful but there's so much on it there's no way to even gather all the information. Don't talk to him for anything because he's rude and will get you no where.

He knows his stuff. I actually liked him a lot, he's passionate about the field he's in (esp. mollusks). He gives out practice tests which I used to study, most of the questions are the exact same but studying those alone won't get you an A. His tests are all short answer. It definitely weeds out people who won't put forth effort. Study!!

I took D'Asaro and I'm going to use my grade forgiveness to retake the class with Pomoroy. D'Asaro puts one picture up and then rambles the entire class, hitting things with his meter stick. I've been told Pomoroy actully gives you notes to copy down that our exactly what you must know for his MULT. CHOICE tests. D'Asaros tests are written response

This class is very difficult. You really have to put a lot of study time in. Make sure that you know everything on the study guide and the practice tests.(especially the practice tests, as he does repeat not questions, but concepts) The lab practicals are very difficult. You are required to pull information very quickly and very detailed.
