Comment:
He gives very long speeches on the same things which eats up much of the class time. He is incredibly micromanaging about annotations. He is constantly interrupting people for tiny little things and acts like the political correctness police (but he says insensitive things frequently and accuses us of not being able to take a joke).

Chris is amazing! He wants you to call him by his first name which is kind of awkward at first but you get use to it. He is one of my favorite professors of all time and I hope you guys have a chance to take him! He helps you a ton. He definitely gets you ready for the real world and will correct you on your mistakes even with speech.

Chris (name he prefers you call him) is a great professor. He loves open but constructive dialogue in class. He will correct you as you speak especially if you are an English major. The homework was easy to understand and participation matters a great deal. Even if the material seems like a no-brainer, annotate on the text provided.

I took Chris's class this past semester and I absolutely loved it! His lectures are engaging and interesting plus he is really energetic. He's out there but in a good way. Put in the work and participate and there should be no reason to not pass. If I could take another class with him I definitely would.

Chris was one of my favorite teachers of the fall semester. He assigns a lot of assignments but they're pretty easy. For homework he usually assigns 1 page critical responses. The classes were very engaging and you must participate

Chris is a great professor and makes his students take ownership of their education. I developed many skills because of his class. He pushes you to speak properly and effectively. If you go to class well read, annotate, and ready for the day's discussion then you will be just fine. If you need help just ask for it.

Prof. Cunningham will make you go absolutely insane which is not healthy as a student. You will have to ANNOTATE EVERYTHING which is so unnecessary. Although personality wise he is amazing, his teaching method is simply bad !!! I will never take him again, but I did enjoy the jokes he said in class. YOU WILL WORK FOR YOUR GRADE.

Will force you to participate, and puts you on the spot for a longgg period of time until you give him an answer. Some stuff was irrelevant to immigration but he finds a way to make it seem as if its related. The best part was his wild shoes lol if you do the reading and pay attention, you will survive.

he is fun and very energetic. grades you upon class participation. 1 page critical response essays every week. 10 page research paper for the final. its not hard. he gives you plenty of time to do the work. my main concern is that he doesnt update you with any of your grades.

Chris is amazing. I've never had a professor who made every student feel so important. He remembers everyones name and makes sure he says hi to you on campus. He's pretty tough but trust me you will be glad you took him because of how much you really learned and how much fun he was. I am a bio major and that was the best class i ever enrolled in!

He is a wonderful teacher. i had him last semester. he will show you the proper usage of grammar and how to analyze movies and novels in a much more intellectual way. take him. Don't be fooled bc he can be intimidating but its only because he knows his material so thouroughly.

What a fantastic teacher. Weekly reaction papers due for the readings. Never come to class unprepared or he'll get ya! He's from Texas so don't mess with him! He's got a potty mouth but that just adds to his charm. He knows what he's talking about and his classes always have a wonderful vibe to them. He makes a 3 hour class feel like 1, take him!

Honestly, there should be more like professors like Chris at NJCU. If you are not interested in doing any work, discussing it in class and can't take a little bit of humor in the classroom- don't even consider him. If you actually enjoy English and are willing to do your work then you will have a blast!

Lit and film- Chris is out there.. But very interesting!. He has a really different teaching method , curses alot and is very vulgar. If you are offended easily do not take this class. Overall the class was very interesting and informative and gave me many different perspectives on things. Gives moderate amount of HW , just one paper for a final
