I dont know why all of these reviews are tearing her apart, I took her class and didnt do the majority of the readings and it wasn't hard, I'm expecting an A. She had us do 2 take home exams that had about 6 pages of essays each, and an 8-10 page research paper. Her lectures were helpful for the exams, and always willing to help during office hours

Rasmussen was a fair professor. The class was discussion based and there is A LOT of reading. There are 3 papers, weekly blogs, but no exams. As long as you go to class she provides you with all the information to write your papers, so reading isn't always necessary. She is a tough but fair grader.

The worst professor I have ever had. Over critical on essay papers. Expects a student to be able to write a grad style political essay without even properly teaching how. Critical on opposing view points other than her own. Reading material promotes liberal ideology. If you are a conservative in any way stay away from this class. A true elitist.

Quizzes were easy, exams were hard but if you follow her interpretations of the readings you shouldn't have any problem. Spend a lot of time on working on your essay writing and make sure to touch on all of the major points of the subject. The final project was extremely hard to get everyone together, just use Google Docs.

What a terrible class and a terrible teacher. Mandatory attendance for no reason absolutely no one paid any attention and its my minor. Forced to do stupid projects such as blogs and Wikipedia entries. Incredibly boring during lecture I just hated this class with a passion. That being said I never went, never read a thing, never listened & got a B

The lectures were interesting and quizzes were easy, but she is a very tough grader on the exams. As long as you read ALL parts of questions (typically one question is really like 10 questions in one) you will do fine.

Pretty tough for 300 level, more like 400 level in terms of demand. She gives quizzes, but tells you in advance. Sometimes she will tell you there's a quiz "this" week and you're unsure what day of the week it is. HARD grader, especially on exams. Go to her office hours prior to writing papers and studying for exams. Only take class if you HAVE to

interesting topic, very knowledgeable, very clear. writing assignments were fairly easy and could be done in 30-60 min. found that my grades on the exams were better with less studying. you can do well just by going to class; readings aren't necessary until the final paper. quizzes are all matching vocab discussed in class. highly recommended.

I would be suprised if there is anything about modern political philosophy that Dr. Rasmussen doesn't know. A very approchable and affable woman, she is always available to give feed back on assignments. A series of short papers, a blog post, and 2 7-8 page term papers are all that was required. All in all a decentish class

it didn't help that the class was held at 8 am 3 days a week...tough to learn about communism and fascism that early in the morning. she's a smart woman and very helpful in office hours. she's a tough grader, especially when it comes to papers.

probably the single worst class i have ever taken. she grades on your opinion, and is beyond narrowminded. i don't usually complain about teachers, and almost always consider my prof. fair, but she was ridiculous. group presentations were horrid. she grades hard, and also lets class grade presentations, which sucks. hated her, with passion.

Not quite the easiest class in the world. The readings are horrid and nearly unreadable. You are required to blog on them, THEN you get graded on it. The problem with that is the readings have not yet been deciphered for you by the teacher, so it isn't quite fair. However, I believe she curves grades, so my grade turned out better than I thought.

Is extremely helpful in office hours. Class entails alot of reading, and quick easy quizes test if you actually read.. the short papers are straight and to the point, there is no room to go on a randomn rant because the Prof is simply too sharp for that. She did try to make difficult lessons comprehendible.

Writing a paper deserving of an A is almost impossible, and grading does seem rather arbitrary at times. Almost as if you start writing B papers you get locked in as a B paper student regardless of paper content. She is however very enthusiastic and energetic which is a definate plus and more than accomodating to help you out.

No studying or learning necessary really, just show up and write what she wants to read. She's a tough grader and scores can seem almost arbitrary at times. Smart gal though and can be a very interesting and enthusiastic lecturer when she wants to be.

5 short papers, 3-5 pages and one final ~8 pages plus a very easy quiz for each section if you go to class. Papers are graded very rough, be very throrough and leave nothing out, be extremely clear. No BS papers get by with a good grade. But the papers are short, so you just need to know what you are talking about. Lecutres usually interesting.
