He uses the same teaching technique for everyone, and in every class. He reads off the slides, nearly word for word, while elaborating very rarely on the content. Quizzes and exams go based off of completely different and more complex sentences than is needed for a quiz, so they are meant to go against your train of thought just to screw you up.

His tests and quizzes were ridiculous. He expects you to memorize everything and it's silly things. The percent of people that use pork in the US? The percent of people that use chicken everywhere? Ridiculous.

This class has single handedly killed all of my motivation... I am an equine science minor and it is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS... minimal to no information has to do with horses, and a lot has to do with Chem and Bio classes (which I haven't taken since high school)... this class is good if you are interested in pre vet, but not much else.

ANSC 201 was hands-down the hardest class I've ever taken. Dale's tests and quizzes were killer, but the lab really does save your grade if you participate. That being said, Dale is a great person and is very understanding, he just expects a lot from his students.

Dale is a very nice guy and he's great when you speak to him outside of class, but for an introductory class, this class was very challenging. There is a TON of information and some of it is reinforced, but he does test on specifics and details and it's definitely hard to remember everything since you essentially have to memorize every little thing

Dale is a great guy but his exams and quizzes (that are all fill in the blank) are tough. Class is very interesting, but you gotta learn a lot of information to pass. Lab is a piece of cake.

My hardest class this semester. His quizzes and tests require a lot of studying, so make note cards in advance and study them often. Exams are 1/3 multiple choice then the rest is a fill in the blank paragraph and short answer. He is an overall great professor and responds to emails quickly.

This class is super hard for no reason found the quizzes were unessacarily hard and obnoxious. But great professor would take another class taught by him, he is very willing to meet with you outside of class.

Dale is a down to earth professor, He's easy to talk to and more than willing to sit down with students who have questions on material. He genuinely wants students to succeed and he (as well as the TA's ) are there as resources. Overall the course is very fair and balanced. Showing up to lecture is a must , he goes over a lot of material!!

Dale himself is a well respected and liked guy, its hard to be aggravated with him even when you find yourself up at all hours studying for his class. He gives quizzes often and they require real preparation! But if you study for the quizzes along it helps with the massive amounts of information on the exams. Tough lecture class, easy lab.

Dale is a good teacher for AN SC 201. It may be hard, but it's not so bad if you put the effort in and a lot of time into studying for each exam! I thought the lab component was also interesting, and it helped me in studying for each exam and visualizing the main concepts. If you don't have to take this class, then avoid since it's harder than 100

Awesome guy, but ANSC201 is the hardest class I've had thus far. So much material is crammed into each test. You need to be ready to memorize tons of information!

Best teacher at this university. He cares about all of his students and learns everyone's name (in a class of more that 100 students!). If you show up to class and pay attention during lecture and lab, you will learn a lot and do well in the class. He drops the lowest quiz grades, so take all of them unless you got 100%.

His teaching style forces you to learn. You have to buy a notes outline packet and during class his powerpoints will give you the information to fill it in. Powerpoints are not online- so you wont get the material unless you go to class. Exams are easy, but you must know your notes very good. Lab was easy, no lab reports.

He is funny and tries to liven you up in the morning but you must attend every class. He gives lecture through powerpoints and his exams are detailed and specific. He is a hard grader when it comes to the short answer questions. You must read your ANSC 201 packet carefully that you take notes with during class. Labs are easy with no lab reports.

(Formerly An Sci 001) --- Dale Olver is extremely knowledgeable about the subject matter. He does seem to present his material in a rapid-fire fashion, though. If you fall behind in consistently reviewing the material, you're sunk. But other than the rate at which he flies through things, no complaints. He's always pleasant and happy to help.

Dale is a wonderful man. If you study for quizzes, you're fine for the exams. THere are a lot of opportunities to boost your grade. Lab is laid back and enjoyable. The class is very information heavy but if you work at it you'll do great! Dale is a great professor!

Dale is an amazing professor. The school is his life and he puts so much effort into it. Yes, the class is very difficult, but it has to be in order for students to handle future classes. He will help you in any way possible and is just an all-around good person. Prepare to invest a lot of time in this class though.
