Comment:

Absolutely one of my favorite professors. His lectures are very entertaining? But it's very important to attend the lectures and take good notes because you won't pass otherwise. Also, do your readings!! Your grade will suffer if you don't. There's only 4 tests and those are your only grades.

Dan capper is an awesome, down to earth teacher. His tests are absolutely killer and are the only reason I wouldnt take him again.

Comment:

One of my favorite teachers at Southern Miss. He gives great lectures and almost everything you need to know is from the lecture. In order to receive an A in the class he says that you have to read. He is very informative and his tests are not too hard since he puts up every study guide by the first day of class.

Comment:

Dr. Capper is by far one of my favorite professors on campus. He is extremely helpful, and genuinely takes the time to help out his students. I wish I could take every class he offers. We had several papers to write, but all were easy. If you show up to class, and try to learn, you will make a good grade.

Dr. Capper is an amazing professor. This course embodies what a college course should be in requiring you to apply yourself, take notes, attend class, and give a well written essay. It is easy to retain all of the information because of how he teaches in his lectures. There are no surprises on tests which makes studying easy!

I absolutely loved this class. He made everything interesting and all of the hard concepts make sense. All of the tests are essay tests and I felt like he graded pretty accurately. I looked forward to coming to this class every day.

Comment:

Dr. Capper knows his stuff and teaches it with energy. Class was interesting, and I looked forward to it every day. It was discussion based and involved the students. Tests were all essay based, and the final was a 10-page paper, but they were graded easily. Paying attention in class is a must; doing the "required" readings is not important.

Dr. Capper is one of the best Professors I have taken! His tests are not hard, especially if you actually read the material he told you to read. His class was very in depth and his knowledge will broaden your mind. Awesome teacher.

Dr. Capper is a phenomenal professor! He takes an enormous amount of material and condenses it into a single semester. The keys to success in this class are 1. Come to Class 2. Do your reading and 3. take the time to know your study guide. Nothing will ever be on the test that isn't on the study guide. Easy A if you are willing to try.

I would literally have to make something up about this man to speak ill of him. He is the best & my absolute favorite teacher in the University. He has a passion for what he does which makes it extremely easy for him to make the courses he teaches so enjoyable. I have taken 3 of his classes & plan to take them all if I can before i graduate!

Dr. Capper is an excellent teacher but his tests are downright cruel! He believes that when students come to his class, they will have no other classes. His tests do not reflect a student's learning and they are highly unfair.

I really enjoyed this class! I had never had Dr. Capper before and was not very interested in religion beforehand, but he changed that! His tests are not hard, just study the material and read the textbook. He always encourages discussion and will happily answer questions. He's a great guy and a lot of fun to talk to.

He knows a lot about Eastern Religions and in Comparative Religion that is what we mainly focused on. I was very disappointed that we did not spend more than a couple of days on Judaism and Christianity. Also his lecture on Christianity was very skewed and would not give a non-Christian any idea of what Christianity is about.

Dr. Capper is by far one of the best professors on campus. He is extremely helpful and kind, and always finds ways to help his students understand the material. I had Rel 131 with him, and I also went to India with him last summer. Do not believe a harsh word anyone says! If you want to learn, take him!
