David is super knowledgable and helpful. He's understanding and willing to listen when something comes up. Would take a class taught by him again! Some of your class experience depends on client, but if you have a bad client it won't affect your grade.

I really enjoyed David. Good guy, funny, and if you just give a little effort and show up you will be fine. Very fair when it came to grading, had cool guests Coke in an talk, and was incredibly personable. If I could have him again I would! Definitely take his class.

Avoid his Web Analytics class. He assigns you a real world startup (aka his friends) to work with and do their analytical work for them. Problem is, that's the full level of direction he gives. You get a team and you get to work. It's extremely unclear what he wanted as an end product. It was unhelpful, and I didn't learn anything. Disappointing.

Definitely take his class, great PR tips, real world speakers (producer of Today Show, Boston Police crisis management manager who was a riot!, NPR editor, & more, who all have high regard for Dave. HE NEEDS to keep his political views out of the classroom, though! We all know you love Obama, so does the rest of Emerson. Give it a rest & teach PR.

Dave is probably the best teacher ive ever had. he knows what he is talking about and doesnt really teach from a text, he brings in lots of guest speakers and relates things to the real world and what you would really be doing. TAKE HIS CLASS!

Dave is amazing! I absolutely loved this class. It's the only one he teaches at this point. He always has really amazing guest speakers and you'll learn real-life stuff. At one point he put journalists on speaker phone in front of the class and pitched a media event his company was doing. Plus... he's not bad to look at.

If you're interested in marketing, media relations or PR take this class. Dave knows tons of journalists who speak in his class. One of the better courses and professors at Emerson. Take this course. His final exam is take home and actually makes you think about and use what you learn in class.
