Lecture heavy & likes to talk... a lot. Lectures can be boring but class itself is not too hard. 2 exams, multiple essays & other assignments, LOTS of homework, one presentation (easy). Do the work & you will pass. Does grade hard but just follow the way that she wants things done & you will get a good grade.

She is nice, but she's a really tough grader. She will give you corrections, but she may find more after you fix those corrections. She docks points on everything it seems. Don't expect an A in this class.

Professor Guerin's CAS 300 class has helped me organize my essays better than any other professor I have had in the past. There is a ton of homework but it takes no longer that 20 minutes per assignment (from the textbook). I am not a fan of group work but overall the class was not bad. Just get ready to read!

I took Professor Guerin for CAS 300 and was looking forward to the class due to the comments that people had written on this site. I was very disappointed alongside other colleagues in this class and the "teaching" of this class. There were a lot of writing assignments, unnecessary group discussions, and homework. I would take her again.

Take her for CAS 300! For tests, she lets you use a whole sheet of paper front as back as a cheat sheet. There are a lot of assignments, but it's just because this class is designed to cover a lot of things. Show up, turn in the work on time, and you will get an A.

Prof Guerin is a very caring professor!! There is one narrative essay, resume/cover letter assingment, powerpoint/speech assingment, and a research essay. There is a midterm and APA quiz along and final at end of semester. She lets you have a full cheat sheet page for every test. She is a very sweet professor and def recommend taking her

She is hands down the worst teacher ever. Disrespectful. Rude. Prude. Doesn't care about her students, and will like making your classroom experience with her horrible. She makes every single assignment very long and difficult on purpose. She does not go through the material and does not teach effectively. Do not take her, even if you're desperate

This is like grammar/English class and most of the class material is not related to CAS. If I were you I'll try to find another professor if you have to take CAS 300. (& I heard there are better professors who teach CAS 300.) She was the tough grader for sure, a lot of homework and works to do. Quiz almost every week. Save yourself!

I highly enjoyed taking Dr. Guerin. She has a clear agenda for each week, and there is a rough draft for every assignment due so that we are able to get the most points possible. Replied to emails quickly and is there for you. Dr. Guerin has a motherly aspect to her that I appreciate. She wants you to be the very best version of yourself!

Since it is a writing class, she does grade heavily on essays. Each topic is interesting and a lot of group editing is done. There are at least 4 papers and 1 presentation. There are a few pop quizzes from material you learned from week prior. Each class meeting has something is due. Her class has pushed me to be a better writer.

This teacher was very helpful and had a great way of making the bland material from the book relatable to the real world through her stories and current news connections. The book is an absolute must, and to pass, you must read it! Some instructions regarding the final paper were unclear, but she cleared them up for me when I asked her for help.

She is the best Professor to take this class with. There are weekly online quizzes on the the reading. Labs are very helpful if you are productive. Read the book and you will pass. Must attend class she makes the reading understandable. Term paper is not too bad. If you want o Learn take it with her.

Dr. Guerin is a great professor. I took her this summer session ('08). A lot of the content that is covered is common sense...if you have any, you will do just fine. She is very approachable. Don't be fooled, definitely look over the study guide a day or two before the exam. Highly recommend her.
