If a student adviser tells you to steer clear, then you would do well to listen. I was thrilled to be taking ancient history, yet I dropped it after one afternoon. If you're interested in a feminist political agenda and hearing about Dr. Pearson's trip to China I'd say this is the class for you. Insane busy work as well, study material not posted.

I was initially excited to be taking Ancient History. I ended up dropping it after the first day. None of the assigned reading was handed out in class like it was intended to be, instead she said she would upload it to D2L. A day later nothing on the D2L except a biography of herself and outdated introductions from two semesters ago. AVOID.

Incredibly confusing, anything could be turned in late, MONTHS late. If she takes an errant turn or someone makes a comment slightly off topic she will continue on that tangent for a half an hour or so. I would end up leaving sometimes during the break due to the tangents going on forever, coming back to learn I didn't miss much the next day.

Confused, disorganized, and condescending in equal parts. It's an easy A, but definitely not worth it.

I LOVE THIS WOMAN. Yes she may ramble but it's always insightful and full of such deep knowledge. She knows her stuff and is doing great things for education! She is very kind and cares a great deal about what she teaches in Race to Save the Planet. She is very understanding and wants to bring the best out of you. MY FAVORITE PROFESSOR THUS FAR! FW

Pearson is a very nice person i'm sure, but, i do not recommend her as a prof, she rambles, everything is unorganized no set focus She is more than likely the worst teacher i have ever had. If you want a class that you literally do not have to pay attention in, and can barely attend and still get a good grade. go for it. but otherwise, don't do it!

She's very nice but I'm not sure if teaching is her calling in life. She is also very intelligent, but often rambles and is very unorganized. There are a lot of readings, and you can pretty much do the class on your own at home except that she gives points for attendance.

Too unorganized. Please take the reviews into consideration! She is a very nice person but way too all over the place. I had to drop this class (my only college class i've had to drop!)

I like her becuase she is willing to work with you on late assignments and she is a genuinely sweet & considerate person. She knows her stuff. I don't like her because she rambles, not returning to her original thought. While I like the extra time to do assingments I need deadlines. I don't like the constant U.S. bashing and pro-socialism garbage.

She's ok it's just she doesn't really teach anything about history. She goes on talking about nothing that has to do anything. Don't recommend her.

If you like being confused all the time about a subject that is pretty straightforward then she is the professor for you! I thought i was enrolled in a History class but she turns it into a woman's study course half of the time. Not worth the headache.

Diane Pearson is my very favorite professor. Yes, she can be a bit unorganized at times, and some of the assignments can be a bit vague. However, I found that her knowledge of and perspective on History was extremely inspiring and interesting. The class was alot of work, but I learned so much!

Dianne Pearson was the most influential professor in my post-high school education. She is a brilliant scholar and a caring teacher. Because of her, I was inspired to continue toward my BA and an MBA and am now, some 20 years later, pursuing a MFA degree.

If you need take a history class, don't take this one. Horrible instructor. Yes, she is nice, but she rambles on, and jumps from one idea to the other. If you want to work on homeowork from other classes or spend time of Facebook, this is the class for you. She has no clue on what is going on during her ramblings. DO NOT TAKE HER COURSE!!!

The worst experience in my education, ever. Rambling, incoherent, scatter-brained(as a counselor called her,LOL), & unclear about what will be graded. If you want to study 3x more material than you need for the tests & assignments, then this inspiration black-hole is for you.

She was extremely unorganized, she had to be reminded to address the whole class during lecture. She gave out assignments that called for research and information outside the scope of the class. This was my least favorite class that I took at MCTC. I do not doubt the experience she has in the subject I however do not agree with her teaching style

I have also experienced all of the negatives listed below. She rambles on, like she is daydreaming but she's in the middle of a lecture. The material was actually interesting but I would never suggest taking any of her classes.
