He was difficult to understand because he had poor diction. He also made tests 10x harder than the practice exams.

Had him because our teacher, Walter Littman, had a stroke. Lectures won't do much for you, go to discussions and you will learn everything you need. Study the practice tests as they are very similar the real tests. Lots of review time. He made calculus easy by putting basic problems on tests and reviewing for a week before tests.

Comment:
The lectures were pointless, yet entertaining. I learned pretty much everything from discussion. We went at a really slow pace, and I found the class to be fairly easy. The tests were very similar to the practice tests.

Lectures seem to provide little, then some obscure point will appear on the tests. Use discussions to learn.

This is the worst possible professor you could ever take for a math course. Unintelligible. Can't teach because he has too many stories to tell. TAKE ANY OTHER CALC CLASS.

He is a decent professor, and the TAs are extremely helpful. It is an easy class because there is a lot of review before tests and the prof. is easily persuaded.

Professor Kahn is pretty useless when it comes to teaching, he constantly makes references toward drugs in class. If you don't want to you don't need to go to lectures because they are pretty useless.

Comment:
Professor Kahn constantly shows proofs during class. It is a calculus class and all he expects you to do is proofs. It is not helpful for applying. It is extremely boring and he is effective 10% of the class time. I recommend taking a different calc class

Nice guy, but if you take his classes be prepared to hear about soldiers marching into a wall and nearsighted flies. These are his favorite analagies... you will hear one or the other, or both, at least once every week. Forbids cribsheet on test, but encourages programing calc. go figure.

His classes are complete joke, he should just retire and start traveling again, most of the class time goes to his stories anyway. You don't learn anything at all, whole time you are there it's as if like a vacation. Get serious please...

MATH 1572H, MATH 2573H, MATH 3574H. Good prof. Tests are pretty easy since he goes over the material well. Nice guy. Easy going. I'd recommend him.
