Unless you took AP calc in high school, don't bother. Most of my class was barely passing. The other half dropped. He rarely gave us partial credit. There are seven quizzes, two tests, and the final. The homework does not count for a grade. He should not be a professor.

Absolutely awful professor. Never take him, he should honestly be fired from this Unversity. His exams are impossible and he likes to throw in plenty of curveballs. He will make your semester miserable. DO NOT TAKE HIM

If you could avoid taking Cavaliere I would do so. I took pre calc and AP calc in high school and got As. I ended with a B in this class. He teaches very fast and assigns homework but never ever goes over so dont even buy the book. Doesnt have a class schedule so nothing to follow. I do not wish this class upon anyone!

DONT TAKE HIM. I took advanced calc in high school and hated him. I felt bad for the people in my class who had never had calc before. Avoid taking him at all costs. Tests are terrible, 2 and a final. Also take quizzes every other Thursday. He drops the lowest 2 quiz scores. Don't buy the book! He doesn't use it.

WORST MAN ON THE PLANET. 13 out of 24 students withdrew from the class on the last day of the withdrawal period. Only 9 students remain. Please avoid. He crushed my dreams. He caused my nightmares. He gave me angina. Please for your sanity, stay away. Never take. If you want to be put down and cry every time you go to his office hours, then take!!

The tests given are very difficult and will often contain his personal and negative opinions about Donald Trump. The teacher will often come late to class and explains concepts at rapid-speed. When the class test average was a 61% he refused to curve. Over half the class withdrew and many students failed. Would not recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Cavaliere is an extremely hard professor. His class single handedly brought down my GPA tremendously. Not very clear when teaching AT ALL. Does answer a lot of homework questions in class, but that doesn't help when he can't teach

He really understands what he is saying but does not realize the class has no idea what's going on. If you can get out his class I would, but if you are stuck with him it's not the end of the world. I had no background in precalc which did not help, but if you go to ask him questions in his office he loves it you'll get better grades on the quizzes

Dr. Cavalier is a confusing teacher, he gives you more information than you need to know which can be confusing. Basically, just do the homework and pay attention in class and you'll be fine. Go to his office hours too!

Calc 2 is not easy material regardless of who you take. However, if you're looking to learn alongside a professor that sincerely cares that you understand material, Cavaliere's your guy. He will take the time to work with you in class, in office hours, or on his own time to guide you through this class. Not an easy class, but definitely worthwhile.

I'm extremely good in math even took AP Calculus and high school and I was still not able to pass. He doesn't know how to explain things, he just memorizes the explanations from the text book. There's a quiz every week.

I'm extremely good at math, and had no idea what I was doing. Not clear at all, if you want to pass, must read the textbook and study every night, and then you still barely have a chance. Extremely condescending, likes to be the smartest person in the room. Classroom is not an environment that fosters learning.

All I can say about Cavaliere is that there is no in between- you either like him or you don't. However, I found him to be a good professor, you just have to open your mouth about needing help, otherwise he's not a mind reader. He's definitely more than fair, and yes class may be hard with him, but it forces you to be challenged, which I liked.

Terrible professor can't relate to students in the classroom. If you take Calculus II be prepared to take Cavilere because for some reason the school doesn't get anyone else to teach this course. Besides this he waste enormous amounts of time trying to prove things that goes beyond scope of course he loves especially to waste time on applied apps.

Dr. Cav is a really good teacher, clear cut information and doesn't make his tests to hard. You need to work for an A though. He assigns homework but does not collect or grade, but you do need to do it to keep up with the class. If you fall behind you're done!
