Dr. Frey is a UMBC treasure. He's a world class separations expert, and a hilarious guy. He gives youtube tutorials that are very helpful. He gives great examples for separations, lots of interesting trivia facts, and does a great job of answering questions. He loves to give hints and extensions on homework. His generosity knows no bounds.

He is one of the smartest professors I have ever had, really knowledgeable and great at transferring that knowledge to the students. If you really want to learn and understand transport phenomena then do not hesitate to take this course !

Frey is a very good teacher. He explains things very clearly and if you go to class he gives extra credit. Also, gives hints on homework assignments a lot!! :)

His lectures are dry, and being early in the morning only further the soporific effect. However he's a very intelligent man and at times shares interesting facts and trivia (that later find their way onto exams, so go to class). If you go to his office he is very helpful, and if you are able to do his homework his exams are straightforward. Nice
