This class was super time consuming and the exams are swapped with power point's to fit the online class. I never thought I would rather do an exam over a power point but these are rough. Other then that the course is pretty dry material. If you can take it as a lecture not online then I think it would be a lot better.

Emily was a great professor! I thought taking art history online was a risky move to begin with since it tends to be a rather boring subject to me personally, but she made it as easy as it could be but challenging at the same time. As long as you keep up with online lectures and use the textbook for exams you'll be golden

I had her for seminar and hist. of photography. She is really great. Photography is an easy class. there is no big research paper, just smaller, fun projects. She welcomes questions and always wants to help :)

It is very clear from the beginning of the course exactly what you will need to know. She gives you a slide list of all the pieces that might be on the test, and marks which ones you need to know for the essays. Prof. Halligan is really nice and helpful. You can tell she really cares about making the class as clear as possible.

I love Emily! She is so sweet and really knows all about the topics she lectures about. If you have a question and she doesn't know the answer, she will look it up and have a good answer for next class. Three tests and a paper, none that are really hard. Memorization skills are important for knowing identifications of artworks on tests.

Basically, ARTH itself is hard with all the memorization, but Halligan is an amazing teacher and will make the subject matter much easier. She's organized, caring, and so helpful. She tells you exactly what to expect on exams (3 of em) and isn't strict on grading. Just pace yourself on studying the 60+ flashcards for each exam.

Emily is amazing. She is so precise in her work. You can tell she's organized and put together. I loved her as a teacher and I enjoyed a class that I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy! She helped us out by giving us helpful study sheets. As long as you studied you'll be fine (even if you didn't you can pull a c?) She talks a lot and really fast.

Excellent professor. Makes the subject matter very interesting and is very encouraging of her students. It's the student's responsibility to study the material on his/her own time, but if you work hard and understand the material, you'll be fine. Highly recommend Prof Halligan!

Emily is SO nice..She is super understanding and goes out of her way to try to help you and make sure everyone is happy. Required text book but I never used it and I have gotten an A on every test. Only complaint is that she is very long winded and says the same thing a bunch of diff. ways, it was hard to listen to her sometimes. But overall good

I took this online over the summer & it was VERY time consuming. Every week & a half there was a written exam due. There were 3 questions- two had to be 2-3 pages in length and one had to be 5-6 pages. VERY extensive. But if you listen to the lectures & use the books you should have all the information you need to do it. Just REALLY time consuming

This was my favorite class. The prof is so sweet and helpful...but you have to study hard for your tests. She gives a generous amount of extra credit and that's what helped me pull an A-. She really wants you to learn and pass. One of the best profs at towson by far. Take her!

Her lectures are engaging and clear. I looked forward to coming to class, and was interested in the notes I took. The harder part was memorizing flash cards for exams, but she gave two extra credit assignments that easily could cover for some bad test scores. Great teacher, very nice person as well.

she is SOO sweet! very smart and cares a lot about her many students. I bought the book but only read it for a couple weeks til I realized she says everything you need to know in the lecture. so if you want to save $90 don't by the book and take good notes! she also offers extra credit for each exam. easy A if you study and come to class!

GO TO CLASS-she is a fantastic lecturer and her tests are easy if you can remember a lot of information. I was not interested in Art History AT ALL before this class, but she made it bearable. Offers extra credit-take it! Very helpful and personable. A lot of studying, but it's worth the A.

This teacher proves that you should take a class based on the rating rather than the subject. Our first class was four hours long, and no one fell asleep! Go to class, get your work done, and you'll do fine - this is the best teacher I've had at Towson.
