Choosing LaBeff was one of my best decisions! She's extremely approachable & her lectures are fun & very easy to understand. The most work you'll ever do is read and actually comprehend what you're reading, which is freaking awesome. If you miss class, you'll miss out on valuable infos that'll appear on test, so don't! 10/10 would take again.

Dr. LaBeff is an amazing professor. She is very caring and helps you as much as she can. I got a B+ as my final grade and it was easily done because she helped us not stress out by telling us to read the chapter and look at specific things to know from the chapter that will be on the quizzes and exams. I recommend Dr. LaBeff to anyone and everyone!

Dr. Labeff is an excellent professor! She doesn't have powerpoints so you MUST show up for class to get her notes. She gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit. You do you have to read a lot, as each test covers 2-3 chapters and at least 6 chapters of the additional material. I would definitely take her class again!

I would take everyone of her classes. The nicest, most insightful prof that I have ever had. She makes you work for your grade, but it's easily attainable if you try. Class is always fun, both times I've had her as a prof. She's the best in her field. You will learn more than imaginable. PS show up the day after tests.

I failed or made Cs on all exams. Extra credit is the only thing that saved me. You'll have weekly chapter quizzes that are not easy. If you don't retain what you read, she is not the professor for you.

Emily Labeff is the best professor I have had at Midwestern State University. She is the reason I switched to sociology. She engages the class with questions and actually wants your honest response especially if the topic is controversial. You will need to read the book, but the topics are so interesting you want to read it anyways.

She's good at making every topic relatable for people who aren't sociology geniuses. She cares what you have to say and is really helpful if you have questions. She does study sessions outside of class before tests and usually gives you an answer on the weekly quizzes. She makes you learn and you won't pass if you don't pay attention or you skip.

The best professor you'll ever have. Even if sociology isn't your major, you'll wanna change just because of how interesting she makes it. She inspired me to change majors. Criminology is one of the most interesting class I've taken to date (I'm a senior). She makes the class so interesting and often, I don't wanna leave class. Great professor!

Tests are based on lectures, extra readings and text book readings. You will make a terrible grade if you don't read or don't come to class. It's a lot of information and the questions on the tests are pretty specific. She's really passionate about sociology and can be very engaging though.

Dr. LaBeff is such an inspiring woman. She not only thoroughly cares about her students wholeheartedly but her passion for knowledge is contagious. I've had 4 courses with LaBeff and wouldn't have it any other way. She is the sole contributor as to why I chose sociology as my minor. Take human sexuality if you can! Best course offered!
