Comment:

Dr. Kancler is as good as they come for anatomy lab. She is an ex-anesthesiologist, has an immense amount of patience and is willing to help anyone who needs it. She wants everyone to succeed. There are no cutting corners in anatomy so you will have to work for your grade but Dr. Kancler made lab pleasant. Also always told us about quizzes ahead!

Dr. Kancler is awesome and by far my favorite professor at JMU. She is so nice and helpful. Anatomy is a hard class and she makes it little more bearable. She knows everyone's name in class and is always willing to help. There are 7 pop quizzes(drops the lowest) and 5 tests. Attendance is critical to getting a good grade.

Dr. Kancler is the best teacher for anatomy. Shes makes class fun and interesting by relating it to real life. She portrays the importance of success in this class and helps motivate her students. You will learn a lot from her. Take her if at all possible!!

Dr. Kancler is one of the best professors iv ever had. Shes hysterical and turns a hard subject into a fun one. If I could take her 10 times over again, I would. I will forever associate things in anatomy with her funny (but also very useful) jokes. Take her if at all possible!!

Dr. Kancler is such a sweet lady and always willing to help in office hours. She helps by giving mnemonics in class and often makes jokes that make herself laugh. This is my second semester with her as my bio professor and she is great!

Anatomy is not an easy class, but Kancler will keep you interested. She's a very funny woman who really knows what she is talking about. Her tests aren't horrible either, except for the arms and legs test. Study every week or you will never catch up.

GREAT professor. Very prepared, SO smart, willing to answer questions, entertaining and fair. The class is difficult because it relies so heavily on memorization and yes, her tests are hard but if you study and prepare you'll do well. One of the best professors I've ever had.

She is a great teacher but She plays a lot of mind games on tests especially for the limbs section since its all muscles. You can miss class & not miss a lot but I dont advise it. Just make sure for the muscles you know them well b/c she doesn't ask the "easy" ones she asks the ones that will have one small difference to throw you off. BE PREPARED

She is the best possible professor to get for anatomy lecture! Very funny and entertaining, and makes sure you know everything. The tests have no trick questions, and are way easier than any other professor that teaches the course. You must take her!

Dr. Kancler is great. I'd definitely recommend her. She's very funny, doesn't try to bore you to death and uses good examples. She'll definitely tell you what's important for quizzes and tests. The weekly quizzes are hard because you only get a few minutes and it's not multiple choice but it's help SO MUCH for when I go back over stuff for exams.

Great teacher. Don't be late to class or she'll call you out and expect you to bring her coffee. Study all week for the weekly quizzes, they cover an immense amount of material. Use powerpoints for tests and book for clarifications. She's funny, interesting, knows when the material is dry/boring, and keeps it real. Fair lady!

Dr. Kancler is a great professor, definitely the best for phys by far. She's hilarious and nice. The 5-question weekly quizzes were annoying, but they helped in the long run to prepare you for tests. The tests were based off the Powerpoint lectures, so the textbook really isn't necessary. I read it maybe 3 times and it never helped me.

Definitely feel lucky if you get her as a professor. Only study her notes and not the extra stuff from the book about things, but the book definitely helps clarify. (Buy the international edition- you save a ton of money & its the exact same.) Between study guides and studying for weekly quizzes, hard work will pay off. take her!

Incredible professor. Relates all of the concepts to her medical practice and is completely realistic in expectations with students. She is such a sweet, motherly type and makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Loved the woman, loved the class (and material)... favorite BIO for sure.

I was blessed to have Dr. Kancler as a professor. She is a retired physician and she relates everything that she teaches to everyday life. She has a huge heart and she is funny and extremely smart and intelligent. If you study for the weekly quizzes, that almost guarantees you an A because studying for the quizzes helps you to grasp the concepts

Comment:

Had her for BIO270 lecture - wonderful teacher. Explains hard concepts extremely well. The weekly quizzes were difficult so make sure to put in the effort there. For tests, I filled out the study guide questions for each chapter, ONLY studied those, and got 2 A's and a B+ on the tests. Hard work in this class really pays off! Take her!
