First glance you'd think he's a good teacher. Not until you realize he doesn't have a powerpoint for you to take notes on, but just talks all class and expects you to jot down every word. Not saying it is bad, but not the way I am used to! A Powerpoint is essential!

Blodgett is a laid back professor, doesn't make the class difficult, very knowledgeable. The tests are fairly easy as long as your there to review the week prior. Extra credit given for participation and other stuff as well. He is a good teacher, I highly recommend him.

Has you read a couple pages/week to discuss in class. Discussion is extra credit. The class is all lecture so if everyone participates in the discussion, class would be fun but always nobody but like 3 ppl participate. Wants you to read a chapter/week but I never did. His test are always different. Can be an easy A if you put effort when needed.

Not a good teacher. There was a ton of reading, tests were difficult, and it was really hard to pay attention. Class was very boring. I would not recommend him.

He is a nice teacher, he was a bit boring at times but I'm just not a fan of history. I stayed after class a few times to ask him questions and he was always very helpful, I also emailed him on more than once to ask a question and he answered with no problems. He does make the class read a lot, but there is never written assignments.

Fall 2011 class is a sleeper. His tests are difficult but if you read you will do just fine. No homework but you must participate each class to get points. Trails off a lot and makes a lot of jokes. Hard to take notes off of his lectures, be sure to record them.

I am just finishing my fall 11' class. I feel he is a great professor and his class each week although sometimes slow in material, is always fun and intersting. He is pretty funny at times and can be quoted saying "Man, I give you guys gold!".

Knows his stuff! Has a dry sense of humor. Relies heavily on the text(s), lots of reading & class discussion of readings. Lectures can be interesting if the class participates. No homework - 3 tests total for the class & 1 extra credit paper. No study guides but he will tell you what topics to focus on. Not easy, not impossible to do well.

Mr. Blodgett does know his stuff when it comes to history...With that said..He is just not a very good teacher...His classes can become tedious at times...And, at times, he can give out attitude to his students. I would not recommend him, nor would I ever take him again.

Im just finishing his spring 2010 class and so far its one of my favorites! There is a ton of reading and his tests are based on the book. He makes the class interesting and I've never been bored. Hes straight forward and tells you what to expect on the tests. Plus, he offers extra credit (which i didnt do :( )

Mr. Blodgett is very real and explains history in a way that I can follow. Funny guy and very approachable. You do have know the material to pass, but other than reading, he issues no homework. Fair grader on essay portions of test. Probably my favorite class this semester. Very low stress class.
