Comment:

Professor Parham is soo sweet. She was by far my favorite professor here so far. Class consists of a short easy paper based on a film you watch in class, 5 pop quizzes (only based off for attendance though), and 3 exams. Show up for the reviews, show up for class and you will pass. 10/10 recommend. TAKE HER! This class was never boring.

Comment:

Literally such an easy class. Just show up and do the quizzes which are graded based on effort (attendance quizzes). Theres four exams and she gives you all the topics that will be asked about the class before the test. Theres one paper that needs to be written based on a film but I got a 100% and I really didn't try too hard. Effective teaching :)

Comment:

Parham was a sweetheart. Her class was incredibly easy as long as you showed up. She does 5 random attendance quizzes, you have to write 1 essay, there's optional extra credit, and 3 exams. I managed to get a 90 something on every exam without much studying. Just pay attention in class (especially to exam reviews),show up, and you're good!

Class can be a bit teidious being 3 hours long, but she usually let out a bit early and all the test are based on the PowerPoints so no real need for the book. She does do attendance quizzes and she doesnt post on web courses often so going to class is recommended to get a good grade.

Loved this class! She always kept it interesting and tests were easy as long as you showed up to class and studied what she told you to! Wish she taught more classes!!

This professor is awesome. She really cares about her students. Tests are so easy, make sure you use the PowerPoint lectures as your study guide. The content is interesting and the discussions are fun. The pop quizzes are only attendance quizzes, they're not graded by content, only if you did them.

Dr. Parham is awesome! her lectures are a bit long, although I did take the three hour class, they are very interesting. Exams and quizzes are easy. Exams are based mainly on powerpoints and articles she makes available to you. Highly recommended!

She's a great teacher and all, but she grades a bit unfairly. Her lectures are extremely boring when it gets to about 15 minutes in and she doesn't supplement the chapterse with anything personal. Don't take notes, as she goes way too fast to get anything down.

Dr. Parham is fantastic! Some of the topics in this course are hard to talk about, but she covers them with respect and with earnest. I really enjoyed this course, and she is an awesome, informative teacher. There are pop quizzes throughout the semester, so make sure to show up to class! The exams are easy as long as you study.

Comment:

Loved this class and Dr. Parham. Some of the topics covered aren't easy to talk about but she is very open and accepting of all outlooks. She provides great supplementary articles for class and tests are straightforward, no tricks. Textbook isn't completely necessary but it is a good read. You can rent it on amazon for VERY cheap.

Dr. Parham class is great, Very structured and you know what to expect. 5 in class one questions quizzes, 3 exams, no midterm and last exam counts as final. She is fun and we had a full class. Her pptx are so detailed; won't need book. She is also over graduate studies. Talked about a wide variety and interesting topics. Love her; she is AWESOME!

Professor Parham is very nice and considerate but I personally did not enjoy this class. The lectures are pretty boring that half of the class stopped showing up and you don't learn much. The tests are easy but you have to look at the lecture slides and self teach because you can't really take notes in class goes too fast. DON'T GET THE BOOK!

Comment:

Sociology of Dev. Behavior was an amazing class. There were five pop quizzes which were attendance quizzes, basically. I never bought the book and barely studied for the class. If you're interested in the class, the discussions are fairly interesting to get into. 10/10 would recommend.

She is so awesome and sweet!! I loved having her as a teacher. Tests are from the power points, so just study and you have no reason to complain. She cares about her students and is very fair. She is there if you need feedback or help! Take her!!

Class is made up of 3 tests, a short paper, and pop quizzes. She never posts announcements or assignments on webcourses so you really have to go to class to get info or you could easily miss something. The class itself is pretty interesting but a lot of her info is biased.

Prof. Parham is by far one of the best teachers I have taken at UCF. Her class is taught well because she truly cares about her class and it is obvious that she wants all her students to succeed. There are no tricks or second guessing on her test. Everything is straight up the way it should be. Other professors at Ucf should follow her lead!

Easiest class ever. She make it so you get an A. Her exams are directly from her PowerPoints that she posts online. You don't need to buy the book because it is never used. You write 1 short paper, 3 exams and she gives extra credit. I highly recommend her class!

pretty easy/straightforward. really awful exam reviews. documentaries were interesting. for the most part was good - i liked that she started discussions but then didn't let them grow. also, sometimes during lectures, even though she'll be talking about the types of deviance, it'll sound like she's talking to herself. needs better professor skills.

Parham is really helpful and easy to relate to. She tries to keep the class interesting. Her test are pretty easy, straight off the powerpoints. Book isn't really necessary. Attendance isn't mandatory, but she gives pop quizzes that count towards your grade. Overall, I loved her!

Very good professor. She makes sure you understand the material. I didn't buy the textbook and received an "A" in the class. Definitely look at the power points and read the articles she gives out. Overall, this is a class I highly recommend taking. Don't really need the textbook at all people.
