It pains to write this since I liked the class, but I need to voice how unfair the covid19 grading situation was. The class is a joke and everyone gets an A, but since there was no final, he curved down by 5 percent, implying that only a 98 or above is an A. It was super inconsiderate in the midst of a pandemic, and despite having a 95 I got an A-.

Jiang is funny, caring, and always stops whatever he is saying to answer your question in class, then picks up where he left off without skipping a beat. One easy midterm, one final (ours was cancelled), two easy projects-provided you pick a good partner- and weekly homeworks. Best professor I have had at Davis! Highly recommend.

The class was okay, professor is good and tas were also good. The reader in this class was a tough grader though. Two group projects, weekly HW, one midterm, and one final. Midterm was supper tedious thus being tricky b/c of the time constrain. Final was a bit tough but doable. Group projects and HW were relatively easy.

He is a very caring and generous professor. His lecture is simple, but we need to pay some time study after classes. One Easy midterm and a hard final. But he is an easy grader.

He is an ok professor. Not the best lecturer, but he tries. One midterm and two group projects. BEWARE OF WHO YOU PARTNER WITH ON THE GROUP PROJECTS because they can make or break your grade on them. Easy midterm and final just be sure to study. No curve since averages are too high.

He tries but is not a very good lecturer. Class had only one midterm, 2 group projects, and weekly homework assignments.

I really like Professor Jiang's class. You can tell he's passionate about what he teaches and research on from his teaching. Class is very well-organized and full of examples. I personally like his way of teaching by giving a lot of examples because it's much easier to understand a new concept. Midterm 1 is easy and the average is 80+.

Horrible professor. His exams are tough yet he doesnt lecture well or give enough relevant example problems. His TAs are lazy and dont even bother to try hold a decent discussion.

He lectures material too much from his own research topics. Also, his lectures are from projector slides so it's kind of dull. Grading was easy because of TA Po. Final project very long

To be honest, he's not a great lecturer; I mainly relied on his lecture summary notes. His exams are pretty straightforward, just look at the summary notes. First midterm was easy, but the final was tough. He's a nice guy and super receptive to questions!

The class was generally straightforward. And the weekly homework was helpful in understanding the material(the TA helped a lot during discussion). Generous curve overall.

Very easy grader. Doesn't give too much feedback. Very receptive to questions. Posts helpful lecture summaries. Assigned homework was a good learning tool. Unfortunately, the lack of feedback on projects and a trivial midterm makes you come out of the class questioning how much you actually learned even with a high grade.

Lectures were close to useless but class was extremely easy. Just read the textbook and study the subjects that he tells you will be on the midterm or final. No surprise questions, everything is generally straightforward.

Jiang is amazingly helpful after class, in office hours, and if you make appointments with him. Post-midterm, the class began to feel rushed though, with minimal examples (not including discussion). The final was certainly more difficult and involved than the midterm, but it was curved. Would recommend Jiang for any statistics course.

I had an amazing TA so the class was a lot better than expected. Weekly homework. The first couple of weeks of the course is super easy. After the midterm, it gets super hard. TA gives sample problems that are similar to homework which is useful. Midterm was a lot more easy than the final. Jiang has neat handwriting but he writes all over the board

Lectures okay, mostly straight from book. Pretty funny though, keeps it interesting. Need to learn from book on own. Homework very relevant, helps a lot. Project is pretty easy. 15Proj/15HW/15MT1/15MT2/40Final. Grades pretty easy. Final/MT2 much harder than MT1. 1 pg notes both MT, 3 pg notes final. Don't need to go to class.
