Comment:
Really unorganized, hard on students, missed class 3 times and wanted to give me an incomplete in the course. Not understanding at all. Bad class, concepts not clear and was not taught well. Stormed out of class a few times too. Definitely not a class I would recommend at all nor the professor. Professor and the way he taught the class was horrible

The professor really cares about the students, sometimes he's a bit hard on you because he expects you to give your best. I like how he likes to give advice not only on the subject, but also in life in general. I learned a lot from this course and from him as a person.

Comment:
Professor Oberstone seems very caring but he's actually VERY passive aggressive. His lectures are so boring and he goes on tangents like 85% of the time. He's extremely arrogant and annoying. His tests aren't difficult as long as you understand the material and they are all open note. Overall, I would not recommend him.

Great professor who is really understanding and is there to work with/help his students pass! There is many outside non-credit homeworks that will help you succeed in the class but there is no mandatory homework. 3 midterms and one group project that make up your grade in the class. If you are late or don't show up to class, he will know.

Oberstone is a great professor who actually teaches and knows his material very well. Its excel heavy with 3 tests and 1 group project which are all pretty easy, but the information will actually help you in your future job/life. He'll bust your balls if you aren't trying or show up late but if you actually do the work you'll be fine and get an A.

Wow. One of the worst professors I've ever taken. Very rude to his students, very arrogant. Class is easy material and all tests are open note. But he's the worst ever. SO inconsiderate, lacks basic compassion, and doesn't care to yell at his student. Goes off on tangents all the time and lectures feel like they go on for hours on end.

I passed with an A because I thought material was easy, but prof not good, goes off topic a lot, pretty cocky, super scattered. 4 open-note tests. 1 group project. good that the examples he does in class are the same format as tests. holds sunday review sessions before tests and they are very helpful.

only take oberstone if you want to get the core out of the way and have no other options. It would be good to bring ear plugs to put in your ears during the first half of the class. He rants about everything but qba itself. His exams are easy but he is such a pain to look at and to listen to. If you miss class he will target you.

Joel Oberstone is one of the best professors at USF. He applies different statistical models testing to real world examples - making the course practical and useful in the real world. Would recommend!

Professor Obersten is by far the WORST professor I have ever taken at USF. He is arrogant, obnoxious, rude, and entitled. He has yelled at students directly in class when they asked for help and been extremely rude. Everything is a group project except for one test which is super hard. DO NOT TAKE HIM he will make your life a living hell!

I hate him. Goes off on way too many tangents for long periods of time, gets mad at students for "taking too long" to answer him, expects you to understand everything after one lesson of it. He claims to treat this class as a business, but isn't as sympathetic as an actual CEO or business leader would be about project circumstances and late work.

Joel is a great professor. Do the work, participate, and pick a good group. The class requires a lot of group work which really helped me learn. He cares about his students and is reasonable & respected. If you want to learn and are interested in becoming proficient in excel and analyzing data, take Joel. Only 1 actual test, rest is group work

He treats students like adults, which is a good thing and a bad thing. He expects you to be on time, present and ask questions when you do not understand something. However, when you ask questions gets a mad that you do not understand. . Also, he moves fairly quickly so it is hard to grasp the concepts immediately.

If you want easy going class, don't take this class. If you want to get educated (which is why we are paying for tuition) take him. He won't like students who don't try. But for students who actually read and practice before the class. He loves them. He is very inspirational. I admit he is hard grader but he very fair.

Avoid him! He is mean and impatient. Doesn't know how to teach and doesn't care for students at all. He has soccer game notification on his phone and it will ring during class. Exams are full of typos and mistakes. He is the worst teacher I've ever had in USF.

Prof. Oberstone is a business oriented teacher. He treats you like an adult and expects that you WILL participate. However, most didn't in my class and we received several lectures because of it. If you ask questions class is easy, if you sit on FB all class you will struggle. Not many assignments which was great. Can be intimidating to some.

He is a mean, grumpy, emotional, and rude old man. I was in his summer BUS 204 class, he was so mean to his students, and he always put someone he pointed out in an awkward situation.
