Dr. Hagood doesn't teach by example, he teaches by explaining theorems which is very hard for a math class. The criteria is unclear and the tests are tough. Lots of homework too.

Comment:

Hagood was my favorite professor coming into NAU. He explains things pretty clearly. He's always available to help you and really appreciates you coming into office hours. The class can get pretty interactive and he'll give you handouts to do in class which really helps solidify what you just learned. I have nothing bad to say, I'll take him again

Lectures are tough to follow, and homework is very hard. You're not really sure of your grade either unless you go into office hours and ask. There is nothing surprising on the tests, and they weren't too bad. He's fun, and students really like him.

Comment:

Intelligent professor. Difficult class. If you ask him in person, he can explain very well, but it's tough to keep up during lectures. Homework can be very tough too, but tests aren't bad. I recommend studying a good amount and visiting him during office hours. Pretty standard lectures. Good professor to have if you have a lot of questions.

He's a good teacher, he really is. However, when it comes to early in the semester it's hard. I felt so lost when i was listening to what he said. Even attending tutoring sessions really didn't help. I'll have to take the course over again. because i know i got worse than C. The good news it gets easier by the end of the year.

Dr. Hagood was easily my favorite professor of the semester. Although the material was difficult, he did a great job of explaining it and offering to help you understand. 1010 would recommend to a friend!

Taken many math classes before and this one sounded good. Material is interesting, but the professor spent very little time on each topic and would only occasionally do examples (which usually weren't that helpful). This is the lowest grade that I have ever received in a class. Overall this is a poor professor. DON'T TAKE!

Dr. Hagood is a fine teacher. He manages to have a "persona" while providing precise, interesting, challenging material. He is crystal clear about everything, but the content is still difficult. For any math/physics major at NAU, I would suggest taking at least one class with Hagood, preferably at or above calculus 3.

He is a really nice old man, but his lessons were hard to follow even though I'd taken Calc A before. I went to tutoring and study crazy amounts and wasn't getting anywhere. I went in to talk to him twice and was not helpful. He ended up passing me even though I didn't make the cut. So he was nice enough, but I would rather have learned it right

Professer Haygood is a very good instructor. He lets you rewrite homeworks to gain more points. His exams are more than fair. He is very helpful in class and in his office. Take his class if he teaches a class you need!

Professor Hagood is an amazing teacher. One of the best teachers i have ever had. He is extremely helpful in his office hours and very inspiring. He made me want to come to class everyday. You have to study for his tests but they're pretty straight forward. I definitely recommend him as a teacher

Professor Hagood is one of the best teachers I have ever had for a math class. He would go out of his way to set up study sessions for his students before tests, even if those sessions had to take place at times other than his office hours. So, above all Professor Hagood seems to care about his students performance more than any other professor.
