Comment:
The only reason I will take this guy's class again is because he is unfortunately the only lab coordinator for Eng. Physics II. He is absolutely horrible at teaching anything, and the only redeeming quality about his classes is that the TA's teach instead of him.

Pretty bad. Isn't very polite. Speaks way too quietly. Is unclear and unorganized in his writing on the board.

Comment:
Dr. James is very quiet when giving the lecture, but he does not always give the lecture for lab. When he does give the lectures, he stares at the ground or the board and talks so quiet that you can barely hear him, even when you're right by him. Luckily, the TA's grade the labs and go over the labs more clearly.

Comment:
Dr James is a bit jarring at first, but he really grew on me over the semester. Pay close attention during his lectures, but understand that you just need to pick up on a few key things to actually do well in the lab. He's very quiet and withdrawn. Make sure you sit near the board. Despite what others say, he does care about your success.

Comment:
Dr. James is hard to understand. He talks to the board and is softspoken. However, if you have him for lab, your TA is the one who helps you/ grades you. Dr. Jame will write stuff on the board and your TA will explain it more clearly.

Comment:
Dr. James basically comes into the lab to tell the TA that they're doing everything wrong. He usually gets up in front to explain things but he faces the board the whole time and talks at approximately 4 decibels. After his lecture he just kind of lingers in lab and randomly shows up to tell you you're not doing something correctly.

Comment:
Dr. James is a really quiet guy, and listening to him lecture can be a pain. The lab manual is confusing and outdated, so some of the labs are tough to understand. The TA is your best resource and also grades your labs, so talk to them and ask questions and they will help you get A's on labs. The 2 exams can be tricky, but are doable.

Took him for physics lab. Very poor teacher, fails to explain things that you have never learned before. Assumed we knew how to put together circuits despite never having learned it. If you have any questions, go to your TA. They will save your grade.

Very uncomfortable to listen to when he walks into class to lecture but isn't that bad of a guy. Your grade entirely depends on your TA and how strict they are on grading your lab reports.

I had Dr. James for engineering Physics I lab. whenever he gives the lecture right before starting the lab, its really hard to hear and he goes through it really fast like you're a grad student. he expects us to understand things that we just shouldn't have to understand without proper teaching. the TA helps a lot, though. don't take him.

Dr. James attempts to assist the student and he may accomplish this by his terms but he is in the least bit helpful. He explains things very poorly, and he talks extremely quietly. He is all around not helpful one bit. Unfortunately he is the only choice when it comes to intro physics labs professors, but luckily there is a TA that lectures.

He is a nice teacher, and lab is very laid back. I took it in the summer, not too difficult, especially considering that it was only 4 weeks long.

Comment:
Dr. James is basically an antisocial robot. He never talks to students directly, he either talks into the chalk board or at the ground. The TAs take care of almost everything. He can be annoying if he skulks over to your desk and criticizes your lab work over something trivial and pointless, especially since he seems to appear out of nowhere.

Dr. James is a strange professor who is really grumpy. If the TA gives the lecture you will be fine but if Dr. James gives the lecture the labs will take longer because his explanations are poor and hard to hear.

He is too quiet. When he makes corrections to the TA's lecture, nobody can hear what he said. He doesn't really show up to labs, he just occasionally stalks in and out. The TA in E. Physics lab is the truly important person when it comes to grasping the subject and getting a good grade.

Dr. James knows what he's doing and is actually a good teacher, but his personality skills are lacking. No one can understand what he says. Smart guy, but he needs to speak louder and more clearly. Lab is not difficult. The exams are practical and come straight from the experiments already done in class. Easy A if you know what you're doing.

James is a sad, frumpy man who occasionally stumbles upon some students in his lab. He mumbles nearly incoherent at them and then discourages his TAs from assuring their students' success.

Comment:
John James is the lab coordinater and has written all of the labs himself. He is clearly an intelligent man, but the way he stalks in and out of the lab is creepy. He tries to be helpful but he is so quiet that it is difficult to hear him at times.
