Dr. Kenney's goal is to have you come out understanding the material. While it may be difficult to adjust to his teaching style at first, he has good intentions and a good understanding of the material which means that students who are motivated will be able to learn a lot from him.

every test day we lost the first 20 minutes because he didn't have the tests printed out yet. he took the time to make sure every person got a different color test than the person next to them, which took even longer because of the way he went about doing this, but the tests were the exact same and the whole process was pointless. so much cheating

Kenney does not make learning physics easy. He seems to be a "weeding out" professor - if you struggle with it, you "won't make it" in a STEM field. He lectures on concepts and tests on the math, provides no lecture notes/outlines/study guides, and does not return homework or graded exams. Prepare to do a lot of work if you want to do well.

I really like Dr. Kenney, he makes the class fun and engaging by demonstrating and calling on everyone. Unfortunately, the homework is due before we have discussed it in class, so reading the text book and doing it before the lecture seems to be the desired effect (which I hate). HW is given approx. 3 times a week (yes, that means weekend HW).

He will put you on the spot but he solves real world problems and talkS about really in depth things. He tries to get you to find out things for yourself. (he'll always make sure you get it in the end though). His class isn't for people who want an easy A although the test aren't too insanely difficult. I you want to learn he's your man

Even though this class was suppose to be easy because it was a class for non-science majors it wasnt. I felt like he expected us to already know this information, we had 4 exams, 4 take home sheets and 1 final, in which we had no study guide, no test were given back to us to help us study. I would not reccomend this professor to anyone.

Tests and quizzes are ridiculously hard but tons of curves! open book tests, quizzes and optional final which isn't really helpful b/c reading the textbook is a waste of time but try to do hw problems. stay on top of the material b/c he calls on students alot! 2350 is hard so don't fall behind. Take good class notes b/c they're more helpful

Dr. Kenney is a very good professor. His lectures are easy to understand b/c he repeats things over and over again. He really wants all of his students to do well and grasp the material. Attendance is not mandatory but I would recommend attending class regularly if you want a decent grade. The book is helpful in understanding the material.

Dr. Kenney was a really good teacher. Physics is a really hard concept to grasp expecially with all of the math thats involved but he walks you through everything step by step. His tests were basically the exact questions from the quizes, he puts you on the spot alot inclass but it helps. Hes kind of a wierd guy but very entertaining.

doesn't require attendance, but if you're not going to show up, make sure you read the book and get notes from a friend for the lecture. tests cover both book and lecture. he cares about everyone understanding, he hates tardiness, and overall, he's a great professor, def. recommend him and I have him again next semester for 1080!

I understood more from him during office hours. ok idea to just skip class and read the book, I would go to problem solving sessions though because he basically puts the homework problems on the test but changes a variable. So do the assigned homework even though he doesn't take it up. 20-30 point curve was nice as hell.

Pff, I guess he's a great class if you like open book tests. But I got crappy grades because he caters his tests to the book. If you're just gonna read the book at the test, what is being learned... nothing. I've always refused to do open-book tests open-book, so I'll have to take another teacher for 2360 in the fall.

his class is pretty boring but hes a good teacher- he used to have open book tests but not anymore. his tests arent THAT bad. I would suggest going to class as much as you can even though its not inforced because on some tests he has examples he's said in class. he really cares about everyone understanding and things being fair.

Class is not very beneficial. Teaching style is confusing and puts students on the spot. Refuses to give handouts and rushes through material. Only good thing about the class is the curve on exams.

Asks students to work out problems too much. It's much easier to understand when the instructor teaches.

The material is a little tough. He curves alot. He teaches well but he like to call random students to work problems, very helpful when he does them himself though, but this is rare. Overall this class isn't too bad.
