Ok so lets be honest I took him as a night class it was hard. You have to actually read the textbook. He is such a gem though makes class fly by it is manageable. The project at the end is fun with your group and it really helps your grade. He genuinely cares for his students and so passionate about micro that you truly learn from his class.

Comment:

He assigns essays without a prompt and asks you to analyze videos using parts of the textbook that don't apply to the video. He has a horrible habit of printing out any essays you turn in, writing feedback on it in a messy scrawl, taking a low-res photo of it, and emailing you the photo instead of giving feedback on the document so it's unreadable.

by far the most unclear professor ive ever had. he thinks econ is the most important thing in the world and expects you to spend everyday doing econ for a night class. teaches the whole time and moves so fast. goes on random rants about nothing. he will start to teach one subject and then go on random rants and treats athletes like they are kings.

horrible professor. the whole class everyone just feel like their missing something. doesnt actually care if his students are following and learning. teaches the whole night class and moves very fast. very unclear on what is required outside of class. horrible teacher and would recommend never taking

It is a night class and he doesn't let out early, instead he gives a 20 min break which sucks and actually makes the class go by longer. He is a nice guy and tries to get his students involved but its a night class and no one wants to be there. He gives quizzes every week which are easy if you read the textbook.

Ostick is a funny guy who basically just rambles about whatever he feels like talking about on any given night. Material is easy to learn if you skim through the textbook. Just prepare yourself for the easy 10 question quizzes at the end of each class and you will be fine.

Pretty poor professor. He had an annoying habit of condescending students like he was a high school teacher, and was often late to class. These attributes might be forgivable if he was a good teacher, but he's not. He almost shouts in his lectures, and doesn't explain the course content well at all. Avoid him if you can. You won't learn much.

Worst teacher Ive ever had, late to class multiple times, does not let us out early, does not teach any material, goes on tangents, talks during tests while you are trying to focus, structures his class in an unorganized. It is so hard to keep up with him. Avoid at all costs

Ostick is my favorite teacher that I've had so far in college. He's a great guy and tries his hardest to keep everyone interested in class. Easy A. Just an online discussion once a week, two tests, and no papers. Review his online power points and you'll do really well!

Definitely the best teacher I've had at SJU so far! Definitely read the chapters and do the online practice quizzes they're exactly like the ones in class. Open note final as well! He's a funny guy who goes out of his way to make sure you understand the class. Definitely take him if you have the option!!!

Favorite Professor in college so far!!! He loved what he was teaching which made paying attention in a night class a lot easier! Take him if you can!!!!! You really have to read the book and do the assignments but if you do so you will be fine!

Osticks a good guy that really cares about his students and wants them to learn the material. Not bad for a night class gives a 15 minute break and goes by fast. Has a midterm final weekly quizs and weekly blog. Very knowledgeable about econ but spends a lot of time on graphs that dont need unless its your career instead of explaining relevant info

He is the best teacher EVER! Keeps my attention for all 3 hours. Gives 15-20 break. Very funny and entuastic. Makes material relatable and interesting. Geunine and cares about students success. Will go over material as long as needed. His excitement for economics is contagious. NO DOUBT TAKE HIM. the night class also frees up your schedule IT ROCKS

Ostick is the man!! Class is almost 3 hours long which is the worst part. Gives 15-20 min. break in the middle, so not too bad. Makes the class really fun. Picks on people in a funny, harmless way (picked on me because I'm a Yanks fan & he's a diehard Phils fan). HIGHLY RECOMMEND him if you don't mind taking him 6-845 at night.
