Lectures are amazing and broken down properly for newcomers to grasp. Shows you step-by-step how to figure out managerial accounting. Homework will take you two to three hours, so plan accordingly. Would say he is one the best graduate professor I had at Chaminade University.

I struggle with accounting, but Professor Kido always answered my questions clearly and promptly. He is very nice and easy to talk to. He does give a ton of homework, but it is a Graduate level class. Expect to work very hard and spend many hours on the material, but he is a fair grader and really puts a lot of effort in to his lectures.

He has been my accounting professor for about 3 years now. He is very understanding and has such a chill persona. Yes, he gives out a lot of homework, but at the beginning of every semester, he clearly states that you don't have to do it all. You just do it at the best of your ability and he'll give you full credit for him. I'd take him again.

Comment:
Does not effectively teach. Kido just pretty much gives you the textbook and expects you to figure out how to do the assignments. There is no prior guidance or examples. BTW there is TONS of homework... That you have no idea if you're doing it correctly till he grades it.

Comment:
The amount of homework he assigns is RIDICULOUS! What makes it worse is that he doesn't teach the material first...just assigns a ton of homework and expects you to learn on your own. It takes, literally, 15+ hours a week to finish the homework...which laves no time to do homework for other classes. I ignored the warnings. Now you've been warned.

Forget what previous posters wrote about "learning on your own" supposedly being advantage. It is NOT. Prof. Kido, though a great guy, does literally nothing to teach you the material. His style is: You do the homework first, then we'll talk about it in class. Not a good teaching method at all. And he assigns a TON of homework!

Makes you learn mostly by yourself...its a good way of learning because its challenging and in that way, youll learn how to solve problems on your own...after all accounting is a challenging subject!

Took at UH Manoa for summer school and a fall semester. Makes accounting bearable and easy to learn. Good amount of test problems come from the book's review questions. Daily quizzes were usually open book.
