I am an anthro major and I personally wouldn't take this cultural anthropology online. He posted lots of powerpoints, videos, audios, and readings but I feel like I never absorbed it. You are only graded on 3 exams which were not super easy or super hard. If you want an easy A take this class, but don't if you actually want to learn cultural anthro

No extra credit. The entire semester is a reflection of just 3 (three) tests - if you are a bad test taker, avoid this course. Read EVERYTHING he posts for material or you won't pass the tests.

If you're taking an online class, chances are you're taking it because you like to move at your own pace. Dr. Manzella (for this course) made it exceptionally easy. He provided all the information needed and only had two exams. Exams were NOT difficult if you read through the PPT's he posts. Loved this course, I'm taking him again in Spring 2020.

Took Anthro 101 with Dr. Manzella. It was a breeze. Just three online tests and they're all based off the slides he posts up. Would recommend this class as a tier requirement!

He's very knowledgeable about his subject and has great first hand stories. For my hybrid class with him there were only two online Exams, the midterm and final. Both are very straight forward so there's nothing to worry about, as long as you show up to the classes you'll pass with an A. If you don't show up though it'll be near impossible to pass.

Took his hybrid course, def an easy A. Only grades that matter are 3 online tests. Fairly easy. Personally, I put 0 effort into this class until tests were around the corner, attended every class (it was only once a week), cool professor. He always took attendance but idk if it affects the grade.

Manzella's class is quite easy. If it were not for him taking attendance you would not have to show up. Tests are online, easy and open note. He is a very boring lecturer though, so be prepared or that.

I took Anth 101 online and first exam I earned 90. The second exam will be the final. So two exams and one discussion post. Not hard at all. Good class I would take this class with him again.

Two exams and an optional paper. If you bomb the first exam it's kinda hard to pass but still possible. Very dry class, but not hard at all. He does take attendance. But if u can pass the class without showing up to every class. great. I wouldn't take another class with him. He's cool but the class is just boring.

He is laid back. Very laid back which can be ok for some students. 2 exams and one optional paper. Gives too much material for one exam and just zooms through everything. U can get the info on blackboard but still annoying. He also takes attendance every class.

Great guy, extremely knowledgeable and interesting. It's amazing to hear all his stories and how he can recite so many facts off the top of his head. No textbook, just interesting articles he supplies. One major writing assignment that was engaging and 5 pages max. He's sure to please and spark and interest.

Can be fun, but was hard making this a morning class. Subject material was easy enough that if I didn't pay attention I could figure it out or remember snippets of his lecture. Very helpful though!

Be ready for a very laid back class. It definitely can get boring at times, but he's a good guy. Tests aren't bad, and he grades papers pretty easily. You don't need the book.

With a seemingly long career in Journalism, Dr. Manzella knows his stuff. The subject matter of the class is interesting. I didn't use the textbook, period. Got perfect scores on both quizzes. Don't blow off the essay.

Very nice guy, and funny, but the class was pretty lightweight (relaxing though). His quizzes are laughable, but he grades the final paper more harshly--take it seriously. Intellectually you won't get anything out of it you don't put in. Frontier Nation will be treated like gospel, rather than the dubiously-reliable work it is.

Nice guy, knows a lot of stuff, but acts goofy - like your friends dad acting cool. Tells groan-inducing jokes. You really get out of his classes what you put into them. Lots of videos - the powerpoints aren't really informative on their own, you've gotta take notes, but that will give you everything you need for the tests.
