Comment:
He is a fair grader and gives you extra credit on many things. there are make up problems after each midterm which can save you if you did poorly. He might not be the best explainer, but he really shows you how to think and study. If you read the textbook and do the practice problems(i.e. if you work), you will be able to do well. Take his class!

Professor Shi truly understands how to teach. He gave me positive feedbacks whenever I emailed him. If you have any math requirement to fulfil and do not want a B+ on your transcript ( Like Professor Johnson Charles) you should try your best to register for his class.

He is kind and smart. The way that he talks is quite engaging. You'll learn to appreciate him and math gradually. Would recommend this course!

He gives you extra credit in every quiz, test and homework. He even gives you 12 extra credit in the final. He post notes online and review for every quiz. His lecture is clear and his grades fairly. There is no reason to do poorly in his class.

Professor Junping Shi is an intelligent and caring professor. However, his lectures are very difficult to follow. He rarely has time to ask for questions in class, but his office hours are always flexible. Overall his class was very difficult to keep up in, so come prepared and review.

Problem sets assigned every week, but are never collected and do not count toward your grade. Tests are hard only because the material is hard, but they are just like the homework problems. Professor Shi does give 30% of points taken off back if you do a makeup problem set that he assigns after the test. However, he does not curve grades.

Pretty clear at explaining things. Tests problems are similar to hw problems and he post hw solution online. Go to class, pay attention, do/look over hw solutions and you'll be fine. However, I don't think he curves. The class avg was a below 80 but I didn't get any, which is fine but some professors do curve avg to 83%

Professor Shi is a fairly good professor. He talks a bit quietly, but his accent isn't too difficult to understand. He is really nice and open to questions. His tests are fair and not too hard as long as you go to class and do the homework consistently.

A good professor. He does have an accent but he isn't hard to understand. A very nice guy too who loves math. He's open to questions during class so don't be afraid to ask and always reminds everyone about his help sessions. If you go to class consistently and do the homework thoroughly you'll do well.

So adorable since you can tell he loves math, but he's awful at teaching it. The only reason I did well in his class was from taking Calc BC in high school. Extremely easy 10 pt quizzes every week, which made up for the impossibly difficult final. A good GER class for kids who want math over with

He's definitely an easy grader, but that's all I can say in his favor. He speaks way too quietly, and often gets confused and stumbles in the middle of presenting proofs. He also sends out emails the night before assignments are due changing them or telling us that actually he made up a problem and there probably isn't an answer.

Once I slept through exam and he undersood my circumstance and was generous enough to give another chance to take the it. He is very quiet, so you have to make an effort to stay awake during the class. Though I admit he is not the best professor when it comes to presenting the materials in enthusiastic way, he made me want to continue to learn math

Not the greatest lecturer in the math department(but definitely not the worst). Seems like a nice guy though. Heâ??s actually a fair/easy grader, if you study the book and do the homework itâ??s not too hard to get a good grade, it just might be a bit time consuming. If you have to take Multivar, take it with Shi rather than Zobin, Zobin I hear

Prof Shi is a very smart man who does what he can for his students. It is definitely true that you have to learn the material on your own, but once this is done, his classes are generally enjoyable. I would recommend him for both of these classes.

Awful. Horrible professor. His lectures were unclear, and if you try to get help he just does the problems for you or (worse) just take your assignment. Wouldn't round up a 92.65 to a regular A (even though I got As on everything but one test).

Overall a pretty good professor, lectures were helpful but tended to put me to sleep, labs were way to difficult in comparison to the rest of the subject material but were graded pretty easily, tests were not too difficult and he gave a chance to do test corrections for extra credit
