An overall nice guy, but very unorganized with everything he does. Has no powerpoints and never writes on the board, just talks the whole class. Three tests worth 25% of your grade each and chapter quizzes every class that total up to 25%. Tests include about 9 chapters each and can include information he's never talked about/never on homework.

He is an amazing teacher. There are quizzes on readings but he will spend the entire class going over the material and give the quiz at the end. He is very understanding, we had a test on Halloween, but he let the entire class take it at a later date. Tests are non-cumulative half mc half free response, but free response is ALL HW QUESTIONS!CURVES!

BLaw is a tricky subject but Hamilton does a great job explaining it and answer all the questions. He gave easy T/F quizzes on the readings just about everyday, but the readings never felt overwhelming. The test are as difficult as you'd expect but he curves pretty substantially on every test. If nothing else he makes a boring subject entertaining.

Quizzes everyday and overall boring material but he tries to make the class interesting by giving real examples and will explain things as long as you speak up. He's a genuine guy who actually cares about making his students good people.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Hamilton. He's older and goes on tangents a lot but I actually learned so much from this class and loved it. He is such a fair grader and he is extremely fair with course work. If you have the opportunity to take him for a class whatever it is. DO IT

Quizzes every day, not hard at all if you read the chapter before class. He really works hard to make sure the class understands the material, so if he asks if you all understand the material and you don't, he will try to present it in a different manner if you speak up. He makes class genuinely interesting, take him!

Excellent teacher who really knows his stuff. Curves and gives extra credit. Not an easy class but if you stay on top of the readings there is not reason not to get an A.

He's is EXTREMELY passionate about what he teaches. He knows what he is talking about. He gives a quiz almost every class and does grades based on a points system. I will say if you need structure, RUN! He goes off on tangents about random things and isn't always clear about what to expect on his tests. Overall he's pretty cool!

Quizzes are given almost every class on material you are expected to read before class, however the quiz can be taken in the last 15 mins if students continue to ask questions on the material. BLAW can be confusing but he does the best he can in clarifying. Tests are situational based & can be pretty difficult if you don't study. Curves a lot.

COB 218 with him, expect to read A LOT on your own. It's a lot like COB 204 with chapters and having to memorize them. He is more than willing to answer ANY questions during lecture and his lectures do clarify a lot of confusing terms. I definitely recommend him over other BLAW professors, Hamilton doesn't have a cumulative final.

Arthur Hamilton is an awesome guy and his class is extremely reasonable. His class is by no means an easy A, but it is definitely worth taking. He's a great teacher and relates the subject matter to all of our college majors often. I would definitely take any class with him again as his class was very interesting and fair.

AVOID!!!!! Brought my GPA way down so I have to retake the class. Have to teach yourself. Lectures are long and boring. Tests are hard and make up 70% of your grade.

BLAW is a tough class to begin with so dont expect any teacher to be easy. That being said, this class is probably the best BLAW class. Professor Hamilton makes it clear what you need to know. Class is 95% discussion with daily quizes on what was just discussed. Do your work, read the book, show up to class and there is no reason to get below a B.

He just wants you the understand the basics, enough to keep you out of trouble in the real world. He loves discussion so be prepared to ask questions about anything in the readings or scenarios. It's law, of course it's going to be hard but at least he curves it. Take him and you will be fine.

Arthur has to be perhaps the single most GENEROUS professor within the COB, between the amount of curves he gave on top of all the extra credit he gave. He isn't mean either, he'll only make one small comment to you if it was obvious by the question you asked that you did not read the book and pay attention to what you read or to what he said.

I will begin this by stating that I am not at all a fan of law classes. Hamilton is a fairly good professor. However, I don't think he deserves the amount of praise he is getting. If you ask a question, especially at a review session, there is a decent likelihood he's going to criticize your not understanding the concept. But he curves.

He's such a COOL guy and I actually loved coming to his class. The course material was super tough but he really wanted to make sure everyone understood before he moved on to other things. Tests are all application which makes them pretty tough but quizzes and homework should be a grade boost.

Professor Hamilton is a very respectable man. His lectures are very specific and interesting and if you come to class & put in some hard work reading the book you will get a decent grade. His tests are pretty challenging and require application thinking, but if you read the chapters (1-2) per week you will be in a better position for an A or B..

Professor Hamilton is a great guy with years of experience. Of the 218 professors he's probably one of the best. Lots of quizzes, almost everyday, but he somehow makes BLAW somewhat interesting. Highly recommend. Also there is some extra credit.

Professor Hamilton is an awesome professor. He has been teaching the subject for decades and is an expert in contract law. His lectures are very engaging. The material can be challenging, but he will explain it in detail if you ask for help. This class is an easy B if you do an average amount of work, an A is attainable with some hard work.
