Comment:

Overall pretty good. Tests are straight forward and take-home essay style. Not graded on attendance but does random in-class work every now and then, and no textbook so lecture is the only way to prepare for tests. Not too much homework either. Can be a little radical at times but it's not personal. Refuses to use email, canvas, or anything online.

Comment:

I Very much enjoyed the class. There were weekly writings on the new york times and the occasional class assignment to write about what we observed on campus. Attending and participating in class discussions is a must if you really want to learn something. Miss class and you will do yourself a great disservice.

I loved his class & I wish I needed to take it again. He has a great way of showing both sides of an argument. Homework isn't bad at all & sometimes fun (had to go people watching). Great class trips (Wendover & Las Vegas).Doesn't censor class (made it real & fun).Amazing stories and provides extra credit (just have to read his books which I loved)

I enjoyed Prof. Kay Gillespie's lectures. This class is very entertaining and his views on things are interesting and gets you thinking. His assignments aren't tough, you get into groups maybe twice, you have 1 take home mid-term exam, and the final exam wasn't even a final more like giving feedback. Take notes! Very important for the take home!

He is awesome and has an amazing way of disagreeing with you. Probably the most interesting class I've had so far. You don't need a text book, and your papers are graded on how well you defend your opinions. If you enjoy controversy you will enjoy his class.

This professor is now one of my favorites at Weber. He was very interested in what he was teaching, and kept us thinking. As long as you show up to class and participate, you will get an A out of the class. I would love to take it again.

He will make you think, but after taking 4 classes from him I realized that his style is the same no matter the subject matter (just an FYI), if you had one you have had 'em all (though the homework does change). Like others have said, if you don't like the idea of publically arguing with the devil's advocate beware Dr. Gillespie The Anti-Anti.

He's the funniest damn teacher I have ever had! He has a way of disagreeing with you and making it funny, even if you're agreeing with him in the first place. He could be dead serious, and have a killer comedy act!

He's the best teacher at Weber State. I've also had him for Social Problems and that class is awesome as well. His classes are fairly easy but in my opinion his teaching style teachers you more than most teachers with hard classes. I agree with the comment to stay away if easily offended.

This guy is hillarious. An easy A and a fun class. I would avoid if you are easily offended. Encouraged some great debates and really makes you think about the issues.
