Comment:
I've literally only been in this class for three weeks and it's already one of the worst classes I've taken. I'm sure Kallon is a great guy but his teaching skills are not up to par. It would be wise for him to invest in powerpoint and use it with lecture because just jotting stuff down on the board is not useful nor is it helping any of us learn.

AVOID. He knows the info, just rambles about the same stuff every class. Never tells you when things are due. Tests are all online and multiple choice, and you can't miss one class. Basically just throws the book at you instead of actually teaching. Very intimidating and whenever someone answered a question wrong he would basically shame them.

Worst professor I have ever had. He has a poor teaching method that is not effective. He is difficult to reach outside of class and in class questions are answered poorly. He also has a thick accent, which makes it difficult to understand. If you want to pass with a good grade do not take this professor.

I really like this professor and Im learning a lot in his class. I hear a lot of complaints from my classmates, but its their fault. He has online quizzes almost before every class and online tests every weekend. People who are failing right now are those who rely on Kelfala to hold their hand. Act like a functional adult and youll be fine.

He gets a bad rep because he is incredibly hard but i guarantee you leave the class learning way more information than you would with any other econ professor and that's because he does challenge you! If you're looking for a class where you can slide by, avoid him. However, if you are looking to actually learn about the topic at hand he's great.

He is late for class and he doesn't communicate. He is not accessible outside of class and brushes you off when you try to talk to him in class. He does not give study guides or put up the powerpoints like he said he would. He doesn't put in grades on time and he is very hard to follow in his lectures. You need to get a tutor if you take this class

Worst professor ever. Had him for Macro and International Econ. Complete joke, but he's somehow still the head of the Econ department. I'm an immigrant and respect other cultures, but his accent is too hard to follow (he's been in the US since he was like 18, so he doesn't even try to speak better...) he belittles those who dare go ask him for help

Only gives details about topics that are important to him and then he barely puts questions about those topics on the tests. Read before you go to class or you will fail all the clicker quizzes. He's pretty rude to the students and if you ask a question he goes into another topic without answering your question and makes you feel stupid.

Terrible Professor. Mean of second exam 57% median 55% no curve. This Prof has forgotten that academia is about expanding knowledge. He is a preacher not a teacher.

Really great professor. If you just want to take an easy class, don't bother. Easily the most interesting prof in the econ department. While he doesn't give 'participation points', if you actually talk in class (no one ever does), you will get way more out of it an he will like you more. He can be intimidating but thats just his style.

Kelfala is the worst professor I have ever had. He has to correct himself on almost every presentation. He is not easy to talk to at all and makes you feel stupid. He doesn't give any extra credit and the only participation points you get in his class are from quizzes so if you get it wrong you don't get points for the day. DO NOT take any classes.

Due to many negative reviews, I was reluctant to take this class. But he was one of the best professors I've had so far. He is very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and wants you to succeed. His grading system is also very forgiving; you can get an A easily. I took this as a summer class so it was accelerated but still not bad. I recommend him.

Dr. Kallon is a good professor overall, but did exceedingly well in Economic Growth and Development.(Econ-360)Given his background and research interests, the class is filled with anecdotes and his newest research ideas.

Honestly, the material in this course can be tough. I feel like he did give really solid applicable examples and attempted to truly explain the material. The class itself didn't respond well and barely spoke, despite his attempts to encourage them. I'd recommend if you want Economics as a major seeing as how he will make it challenging

Honestly a decent guy. sort of hard to approach and not always clear on instructions. Does NOT understand technology at all, for some reason. aside from this though, he knows his economics and I had no problem at all understanding him.
