She grades like shes teaching a grad class. Writes somewhat rude comments on your work. Your grad is based on three exams, one paper, and one presentation. She will frequently tell you that assigned reading are hard to comprehend on your own and then is not so forgiving if you understand it wrong.

She is absolutely brilliant and engaging as a professor and a person. She has immense discipline in balancing her lesson plans with grading papers (she gives great constructive criticism), as well as being available to the student. Which she taught more classes I could take! Put your everything into this class, she will notice and appreciate it.

I love Dr. Bluemel! She values your opinion as a young professional, which is the most important thing for any English professor I feel. She certainly has the smarts, and every time I leave, I feel like I've absorbed five years of education.

As someone who loves English and reading, Bluemel has sucked the pride and joy out of the books we read. They are beaten with a hose. This class has an excessive amount of work which I feel I'm not fully absorbing because I'm doing everything in a rush. A midterm, a book and a paper due within a week. She is highly intelligent, that I cannot argue.

One of the best professors I've taken at Monmouth University! Professor Bluemel is funny and quirky. I've learned to analyze readings the best in her class, she makes it fun while still learning. She has weekly quizzes, but if you read they're very easy (extra credit included). She is so sweet and really makes everyone feel comfortable. LOVE HER!

I had her for first year seminar on children's lit. Awesome teacher. She is incredibly nice. She is a mom so she is always lending helpful advice, especially since we were a class of freshman. Her class was very interesting (in my opinion). You have to read but its not a lot. She is willing to help you with anything. There are weekly quizzes.

Take her!! One of the best professors at Monmouth. Inspirational. She ties together all of the books throughout the semester and really makes you appreciate the literature. She is a very fair grader- if you read you should be fine. I looked forward to this class every week and was lucky to have amazing people in my class. Doubles! Enough said.

She's a very nice teacher, always in a good mood and always interested in the material. Class is very lively. Reading before every class and a very, very easy quiz once a week. The class can be challenging, but it really helps you appreciate the literature.

Prof. Bluemel is a great teacher. She really understands literature and fosters class discussion. If you put in the time and do ALL the reading, you will be easily rewarded with a good grade. Don't miss class if you can avoid it and don't leave the room during class. Quiz every Fri. and plenty of extra credit opportunity.

I took her for EN201 & 202 in the same semester. I got an A- & a B. The classes were not easy. You have to show up for class and have a high level of participation. There is a lot of reading, homework, papers, & tests. Always be prepared for class.

She tries to keep the class interesting, but what can you do with literature. Just read the books, because quiz's questions doesn't come from sparknotes. She is harder grade when it comes to papers. There is one midterm and final and term paper. Don't dare stepping out of her class. She will ask you where you asking like you are 8 or something.

Very unclear about grade. She treats you like middle school kids. She asks you where you are going if you stepping out of the class. You must read all the books. Quiz every Friday. She grades the mid term and final very hard. She does not curves the grades. Don't dare to look at your cell because she will take it away like High School.
