Comment:
Lars taught the ear training/sight singing portion of music theory. By far one of the hardest classes...lots of pressure and lots of folks cried. But, in the end, I left with a trained ear and a new respect for the class and the professor. Highly recommended. His class weeded out the music majors who didn't want it badly enough.

He was an ok teacher. His grades were assigned pretty fairly, as long as you followed his directions. The class was incredibly boring and you have to remember the entire semester and book for the final, there are no tests on the stuff learned in class through out the semester. I didnt do much work through the semster and still got an A though.

He knows his stuff, but is very disorganized. If you are a music theory major, it would be a breeze I would think. I think the idea of having a comprehensive final (and only test) on so much material is a bit much to ask. The listening exams are not to difficult to handle but the final was absurd.

The best professor in the music department. Really helps you, and if you put forth the effort you will pass his class easily. Very knowledgable and helpful. He is demanding sometimes, but he just wants to see his students achieve big time.

Lars is SO hard, and he makes everyone in the class feel inferior. He makes someone cry at least once a week. He also assumes previous knowledge and moves very quickly. He's the worst teacher I've ever had at SU.
