She is OK if you don't have a large course load. I have a full list of classes this semester and this prof. want's you to spend HOURS almost daily on HANDWRITTEN journals, homework, etc. It's been very aggravating because my time at home is 70% Gillespie homework, 30% my other classes (yikes), and 10% breathing. Also a snotty attitude. Don't take.

Great professor, but you've gotta know your stuff. Don't fall behind and prepare to commit more time than you expect. Incredibly smart professor with fascinating stories to help you understand accounting.

She spent most of the class ranting about things that had nothing to do with the lecture. She always talked about how easy we had it and how her education at Notre Dame was better than ours. When she did teach she would go through things quickly and didn't explain anything making exams difficult. Don't waste your time and take someone else.

Awful experience. If you are not good in math, definitely do not take her for accounting. She herself does not understand what she is discussing. Overall her grading is straight forward and to the point but she will make it seem like you will pass until the last minute when you cant even drop the class anymore without failing it.

I would never consider taking her again. I was not doing so well in her class and asked if I should drop before the deadline so that I dont fail, she told me I have a chance at passing if I do not get any more zeros on the assignments. I did not. Was told i do not have the motive to pass her class bc my assignments werent handed in before 11:59.

Homework all due before class, oh ya that means you need to self learn :) And btw homework all need to be handwritten, can you imagine that, accounting handwritten homework woah :D those numbers omg And if you ask her for the correct solution for exams, she ask you to do corrections first. (Dude, do I sound like I know the correct answer?)

Just don't take this professor. I guarantee that your hatred of college as an institution will either grow massively, or cement itself into your heart. The fact that this professor is allowed to breathe the air on campus is incredible. She wants to fail you, because she does not care. She's only there for the healthcare and paycheck. 0/5 just run

If you care about your GPA or the hours you spend working for your tuition money do not take this class. The test average is usually around 60% and the classes consist of going over homework that we have to figure out ourselves. She takes pride in failing students. Currently I have 4 class periods left which will consist of another exam and a final

TAKE HER!! Whoever said that she is a difficult professor does not want to work for a good grade. She will stay after class and answer any questions you might have. No matter how long it takes, she will make sure you understand the material. I highly recommend taking her. Even if you say the wrong answer, she will explain why it's wrong. She cares.

Don't take her unless you have no choice. You have to work hard so by no means is this an easy A but she does curve the class at the end which helps a lot. She does get off-topic a lot and rants a lot about our education is not comparable to her education. I don't think the quality of this class is great compared to other professors.

Terrible prof. Spends less than ten min of class time ACTUALLY lecturing, rest is her talking down on our education. She has NEVER taken the CPA, and acts like she knows the subject when in reality she knows as much as my econ profs. RIDICULOUS grading scale and exams are so bad, avg is a 33%... avoid her for this class, it is a WASTE of tuition $$

I think she uses her experience more than her intuition because, it almost seems like she has a chip on her shoulder. She seems like she can be nice if you get on her good side though...

Prof. Gillespie really inspired me during and after class. She is a true mentor with tons of knowledge that you'll learn from. She cares about her student's thinking ability, integrity and work ethic, which helps you in the long run after join the work force. I landed a Big 4 job after graduation and that can't be happening without taking her class

She forces people to have them think she's popular but this is a foolish feat. When you do this, you create an imbalance in the Universe and an overall rotten attitude.

She's actually not that bad, she'll be honest with you on your performance and if you belong somewhere else, she'll be upfront with you--otherwise, the material gave me a headache while differentiating 1st semester calculus and a brand new subject like accounting. Some in class needed motivation and she was there for that. Others, well, IMHO.

I breezed through high school, just like many students. When I arrived to college, it was a brutal awakeneing, especially her class. If I had not taken Gillespie, I would not be able to succeed in college. My work ethic was garbage, but she not only taught me accounting, but also how to succeed. She will make you work, but it will be worth it.

Class is very hard. But, I learned so much about work ethic & accounting from her class. She helps you to work toward knowledge, not just getting an A. You can have a 75% before the curve and still end up with an A. There is a lot of homework, but it is manageable and very helpful for class. Never skip class.

I dropped her course years ago and didn't realize what she was doing until recently. A little above and beyond what someone's supposed to do on a teaching position, and certainly on a Macro level. The only downside was the intensity wasn't there and the quality wasn't really that great compared to the professors that I had later on when I transferr
