Grading is precise and tough, but gives plenty of opportunity to earn it back with extra credit. Don't quit if get low grades on tests, he usually works with you to make sure you get a decent grade if you work for it.

Dr. Amer Is a great professor. he is straightforward and organized . willing to help you if you show effort and attend class. I took Statics, Mechanics, Thermo I, Polymers, and Capstone with him. I am also taking Nano-scale this semester. very clear, neat teaching style. Study what he tells you and you will be more than fine. Strongly Recommended.

Amer is certainly a character in the ME dept. He makes his own teaching style work into his class, which is usually fantastic. But, for Capstone, was near useless for 90% of the class. We heard other engineers talk about their careers; not about writing a EGR Lab book, or how to write papers the way HE wants them. Very meticulous grading.

I don't know what everyone else on here is whinig about. This guy is great. Very nice, very patient. Class is entertaining as well as informative. Time seems to fly by. I'll take any class he teaches.

i was afraid to take this course with him because what other students told me but, THANKS GOD i had him. exams are Exactly like HW problems. if you know how to solve HW you well get an A in this class. he is very kind professor and really wants his students to know the materials. i would take him for any class without thinking ^_^

Amer is a different type of professor as far as engineering goes. He made us memorize formulas, which I wasn't too fond of. That being said, his lectures are very clear and he tries his best to give you second chances or the benefit of doubt. You likely will have a tough time in his class, but he will teach you material--unless you already know it.

Maher teaches his own subject, loosely follows book, and is fairly no nonsense. But what he teaches in class is exactly what he assigns for HW and tests. Tests are EXACTLY like HW. Help is dependent on his mood but mostly good. Demands recitation attendence (idk why). Be sure to follow his personal rules or pay for it later. Learn, experience, A.

Straightforward professor. If you had Wier for PHY240 and take Amer for ME212, it's the same but taught by a professor who can teach. The exams are along the same lines as homework, and homework is relatively easy. He could explain some things better, but he is good for the most part. Go to class, or you will miss things; and Tony will get you. :)

Fairly good with the lectures but do not expect the exams to have anything to do with the homework. Unfortunately he is a smug professor who believes he can do no wrong. If he made a mistake with your grade or grading in general, do not expect him to correct it.

Dr. Amer is by far the best professor I've encountered in the engineering department. He is so helpful both in class, and also if you visit his office hours. He goes at a good pace and frequently asks if everyone is understanding. His exams are straight fron the homework, so studying and getting an understanding of the material is pretty easy.
