Comment:

Truly a great teacher, couldn't be happier with the way he runs his lecture and lab. I have learned so much while in this class and continue to use the knowledge every day. If you want a professor that loves what he teaches and brings new fascinating material to class every day, take his class you will not be disappointed.

Comment:

Well its boring class talks about stuff that isnt nessary, the book actually helps more and if you try to take notes you should be ok. However even with that his tests are tricky its not always revelant to what he says or need to know way to much detail for an intro course. Hes smart but he isnt best at teachin material look for sumone else

This class is awful. I've been at OCC for a year and a half with straight A's. I did not miss any of his classes, read the book, and am still getting a B-. He has a monotone voice, talks for the full class period, rants about subjects not on the test, and puts unexpected topics on tests. One good thing is that he curves BEFORE the test.

This class is EASY to pass. His curve is like 50%. I got a C and I spent EVERY DAY listening to my iPod, doing math homework, and playing on my phone. If you actually try, you'll get a B for sure. Don't let these other reviews scare you. He's actually interesting if you aren't a dolt. No HW ever, 3 tests total, and attendance is taken daily.

I love astronomy. I'm losing my interest in the class- make astronomy exciting! More importantly if you know the concepts you should do well on the test- if you forget a couple of stupid facts- come on! We can't memorize the book. Loving/learning the concepts should be more important.

OMG. I WISH I NEVER TOOK THIS CLASS. THE TEST IS 80% LECTURE 20%BOOK. IVE NEVER BEEN ABSENT AND STILL GOT 17/50 ON THE TEST. HE PUTS THE MOST RANDOM QUESTIONS ON THE TEST. HE WENT ON RANTS ABOUT THINGS THAT WEREN'T EVEN ON THE TEST. HOW CAN U PREPARE IF U DON'T GET THE INFO FOR THE TEST IN CLASS?

It was a hard subject for me, alot of math and calculating, definatly not my strong point. It didn't help that overall he was very boring. It might have been the subject content but it was a very boring class.

Very intelligent man but loves to talk and talk and talk....His tests are very difficult. He will talk hours about one subject and it won't be on the test, but he will mention something for two seconds and that will be on the test! He won't give review sheets or anything to help you so, tests are a guessing game! I don't recommend him!

His lecture and lab courses are very challenging! His lecture class is hard because you don't know what information from the book or from the lectures will be on the test. The lab is difficult to understand at times so I recommend recording his instructions. That's what I did and it helped me so much! Lattanzio is boring but he's a genius in astro!

WORST TEACHER AT COAST SO FAR. it's not just that he is boring... he gives horrible lectures which you learn nothing from, he only writes 5 words down the whole lecture. He doesn't give study guides and expects you to know everything that came out of his mouth and everything in the book. Tests are hard. Extra Credit is worth doing.

Boring but you can get an easy A. Just read the book and actually sit down and take notes. Go everyday or else you'll get drop. It its not so much an easy class. The hardest part is to stay awake and drag yourself to class every day

BORING, MONOTONE, NO STUDY GUIDES, NOTES ONLY, RELY ON BOOK. If this is how you like your classes to be then take this class. I took this class because Astronomy interests me but he just has the most boring voice ever that i find myself nodding off ever day. Caffiene is a MUST if you are going to take his class!

MOST BORING, MONOTONE professor ever! I REGRET taking his lecture class! His lectures are very disorganized and I agree with the last 2 reviewers. I wished I had found his rating prior to registering for his class. Everything they've said negatively is TRUE. Absolutely TERRIBLE lecturer! Loses track of what he says all the time! DON'T TAKE HIS CLAS

This guy is HORRIBLE! mono-tone, contradicts himself every 30 min or so and he talks in a circle sometimes!!! he is very smart but super boring!!!! his tests are hard and you have to read pretty much the whole entire book to get a decent grade on his midterms. there are only 3 and the class average is always C or less! do not take it!!!

This guy is a joke. I mean, yes, he knows Astronomy like the back of his hand but a 100 course is supposed to go over the general topics of a subject, not every little detail. There is absolutely no structure in his lectures, his notes are all over the place and then he doesn't give a review for the tests. What a waist of time.

Okay, Lattanzio is a very interesting professor. He is very passionate about his work and it shows in his lecture. I would have to say it is not the easiest class. But he has a great curve which anyone with half a brain should be able to pass with at least a C. Read the book and study your notes for the A.
