Comment:

I took physiology and pathophysiology from him. Best professor Ive had. Doesnt make the class easy for students and doesnt dumb down the material. However, he wants his students to succeed and will do what he can to help you learn the material. Really prepares you for the medical field. Lectures are the best. Do not miss class.

Comment:

Dr. Bracken is phenomenal. He gives engaging lectures, always tells beneficial and memorable healthcare stories to apply to learning. This course requires a lot of work, but the things you are expected to know will follow you into your career forever. Very valid and important information. He will take time to answer questions. Thorough, helpful.

Comment:

Dr. Bracken was a phenomenal professor! Great and interesting lectures, helps tie concepts together and applies them to the real world. This class definitely makes you work for it, but it's doable and also a blast! This was my favorite class I've ever taken, material and professor! Bracken prepares you for the medical world, so get ready to learn!

Comment:

You really have to dedicate time to learn the info, but that's just physiology. Professor Bracken is the best to take it from, he relates everything to real life scenarios and is very caring. You have quizzes in class for every chapter but do them with peers, & there's 4 tests, lowest is dropped, all curved. Then a final. I learned so much.

Comment:

Dr Bracken was good at teaching and applying lectures to real life and to our future careers, but his tests were HARDDD! He said he purposely makes them difficult so he can see who's the best... if more than one person gets 100% then the tests are "to easy". Get ready to study like crazy and read the entire textbook word for word.

Bracken is the best professor I've ever taken from. You can tell he is very passionate about what he teaches- he relates almost every subject to the medical field. He also cares about his students and wants each of them to excel. Yes, it was a very hard class, but if you put the work into it, you will do well.

The only graded assigments for this class are the 4 tests and quizzes, and final. There is no extra fluff busy work, which is great because you need to spend all of your time studying for the tests. Dr. Bracken is the best professor I have ever had at UVU. I like this class because a good grade IS possible, but requires tremendous hard work.

Teacher tells great applicable stories during class that makes lecture interesting. He sometimes skips around things because of time, and if you don't study outside of class, you won't pass. The only assignments are the tests and some in class quizzes, so get ready to study a lot. His lectures are great and they are recorded!

Comment:

I was really excited for this class but it stunk! Professor Bracken told the class that he puts questions on the test that we haven't gone over just to weed out the A+ students to write them letters of recommendation. It was hard to reach him outside of class. The tests were insanely hard- the average was a C or a D. Prepare to work your tail off.

Loved having Bracken as a professor. You can tell he cares about the material and his students. He is available outside of class to help with difficult concepts. Lots of reading but don't skip it, you need it. He applies everything to the medical field and stresses why you need to know it, he made me care about what I was learning.

Dr. Bracken is the most amazing professor I've ever had. He made physiology so fun and interesting that I didn't struggle to learn the material because he made it so engaging. If you are taking physiology, you need to take it from him. He cares more than any other professor I've met and will help you succeed. Get ready to be pushed, but love it!

This class requires a lot of time on your part because Bracken struggles to give an even amount of time to each of the difficult subjects we cover. He has really great and applicable stories, but can sometimes get carried away leaving you left out to dry and figure it out before the tests. Take the time to study and you will be good. Bracken explains patho amazingly. I am graduating as an RN from UVU and I feel this has been by far one of the most useful classes I have ever taken. He wants you to know your stuff- which you should. He has alot of experiences to share which were very useful and provided great insight. 10/10 for the class.

I took both Phys & Pathophys from Dr. Bracken and he is by far my favorite teacher at UVU. He teaches things that prepare you for healthcare and he frequently asks the class questions to test knowledge and keep you engaged. I only used the text book to fill out the objectives and I studied those (I didn't read all the chapters).

Best class I've ever taken. He has clear expectations. He gives amazing lectures that you can rewatch. So do that!! It is so helpful! Dr. Bracken is an excellent teacher and an understanding professor!

Professor Bracken is one of the best teachers at UVU. He genuinely knows what he's talking about and he wants his students to succeed. He will work with you and help you if you reach out to him. This class definitely requires a lot of outside study and effort. If you put in your part and do your best, it will work out. You can do it! He's the best.

Bracken blew my mind! Physiology isn't an easy class. But he is one of the first professors I've had that gives you real-world clinical examples of all the concepts which was DOPE and motivates you to really learn everything cause in his words "someone's life will be in your hands someday." He loves what he does and it shows in how he teaches.

This class isn't meant to be easy. You have to read the book before lecture to prepare and understand the subject. TA sessions are available and highly encouraged. One test is dropped and you get to keep the curve points from it to apply to another test which is amazing. Do your due diligence and you'll pass just fine. Popquizzes are open neighbor

Dr. Bracken is the best professor I have ever had, hands down! He is emotionally invested in not only the subject he teaches, but also his students. He will take the time to explain concepts to you but will also get to know you on a personal level. I wish I could take all of my classes from him! His classes are difficult but SO WORTH IT!!
