Mark is the best professor at Lang - if you ever have him, be sure to take advantage of his office hours. You will get a ton out of it, and it will really help you out with writing for him. And other classes! He's totally into student progress, so he will put honest effort into helping everyone.

Mark is a great professor who really knows what he's talking about. He's a hard grader until you can figure out the level of insight he's looking for. You will learn a lot from him, and he really cares about his students!

There's always so much going on in Mark's mind that he can't get it all out at once and so he goes on these very long and very amazing lectures on religion all the time in class. It's kind of amazing. But for a seminar that can be a little disconcerting. (Also, why are there no hot points for him yet? He's beautiful!!!)

Mark is consistently engaging and, perhaps most importantly, thoroughly committed to student progress. Those commentators who did not find him clear have only themselves to blame; they should have taken advantages of his office hours where he is more than happy to explain and elaborate of concepts discussed in class.

Mark is kinda crazy and will do this wierd breathing thing between sentences. Although he does seem unorganized, his intelligence and insight of the world is surprizing. He really values the seminar style of teaching and can really lead a great discussion, but not always.

I've taken a couple classes with him. He's a great teacher because no matter how dumb you feel, he helps you draw out your ideas & make you feel like a genius. He does mumble a bit, but once you get used to his pattern of speech, you'll be amazed. As for difficulty, he gives credit for trying.

Brilliant guy and very nice, but rather unclear. Classes lack structure, and he seems to make a lot of assumptions about members of various religious groups, which given Lang's relative lack of ideological diversity, can be a problem.

Awesome class, great guy. Very interested in his students and very intelligent. Also he's on top of things and organized which makes the whole class run smoothly. Highly recommended.
