Took this class as an elective (was told it was a joke) Turns out that this class would end up being the worst class that I would ever take. If he disagrees with your POV, you'll get a bad grade. He promotes this weird, communist, LGBT, nonsense constantly. It amazes me that this guy is still allowed to teach at this institution. DONT TAKE THIS!!!

This class was terrible. If you can avoid it you should do so. You have 2 lectures a week and then he wants you to go home and watch online lectures of on top of that. The Moodle quizzes weren't easy and you had to do them in class. Originally had 8 mins for 10 (long) m.c. questions. If he didn't agree with your POV on a paper you got a bad grade.

If youre looking for a sign to not take a class from him, this is it. He is the worst prof I have ever had and I cried a lot because of his insensitivty and misunderstanding of students. It feels like his passion of teaching is so far gone and he hates his job. He is the first prof I have encountered that does not want the best for his students.

He's not funny, overly passionate, witty or extraordinary in any way- there's nothing particularly interesting about this man, he's literally just a dude that stands in front of the lecture. He reads us interesting things written by interesting people but he himself is just a guy. Not exactly boring per se but not inspiring either. Creative? Nah.

This was an excellent class, and Dr. Silverberg did a great job of organizing readings and discussion and pushing us to think more deeply and reconsider many things we took for granted. The material was challenging and you had to work hard, but I liked this about the class because it made me a better thinker and writer. Ditto for ENGL 4503.

I took Modern American Drama with Mark and loved it! The class had a great balance of lecture and discussion as he allowed students to share their thoughts on the text while keeping us on track. Mark was great with helping with papers outside of class (even replying to last minute emails.) I would highly recommend taking a class him.

He is very intelligent and his lectures are decent enought that reading the book isn`t necessary. However, he`s really awkward and not exactly approachable. And he will butcher your essay yet not give you much advice on how to make it better the next time. I don`t know him personally, but his class was not great.

Silverberg is alright. He's boring and he loves poetry. He marks kinda hard, not bad tho. If you dont have any intrest in english and are just taking it for a grad requirement, dont take it from him. He will kill you with bordom. Only for people who love english(BA Students).

He keeps you busy but you learn. He does focus a lot on poetry, but gives you different options for essay topics (paintings, short stories, movies etc.) One of my favorite Profs. He seems very helpful although I haven’t needed much help yet. Whoever said it was boring must not have any interest in Literature.

Alright teacher. Speak up alot in class. He doesn't overload homework which is good. He gives alot of little easy assigments to help your grade which is cool. Any jewish holidays you get that class off :)

Silverberg is really awesome in his clarity, he provides sheets on how exactly he wants you to complete the work. The problem with him is that he can be extremly tempramental, always do the readings bc he threw my class out today for not being prepared.
