Course was clearly laid out. Chapters are straightforward, homework assignment were not difficult and good review sheets for big exams. Course was interesting and attendance is a must. Highly recommend.

Passionate about teaching and cares about you learning the subject. Lectures were insightful and encourages student participation. Uses understandable examples. Chapters were short and easy to understand. He is a prime example of how professors should be.

Comment:

Took the course as an elective and made the right choice. The prof. followed the syllabus and was quick returning homework and answering emails. Really enjoyed the music, movies and the power point lectures were easy to follow. Overall, I recommend the course.

Comment:

Started out in the classroom and finished the course online. HE 342 opened my eyes to what addiction is really about. Prof. Martin gives a reality checkup on behavior. Lectures were a nice mix of text, photos, music and videos of not actors but REAL PEOPLE. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE COURSE!

Comment:

Never liked online courses until I took professor Martin's course. The prof. made the course easy to understand. Chapters were clear and the exam review sheets was on the money. Prof. Martin was never too busy to answer questions. Read the chapters, do the homework, ask questions and participate and you should have no problem.

The course was an eye opener. Learned about dangerous substances I never knew existed. PowerPoint chapters were easy to understand. Voice sessions were helpful and I had fun talking to the prof. LOVED the professors choice of music, poetry and videos. One of my favorite courses I have taken!

Great online course. Always looked forward to having our voice sessions. Music and videos are part of each lesson chapter. Not a hard course but you have to do the assigned work. Prof. Martin is easy to work with.

Took a few online courses before but this course was the bomb! Chapter readings and homework assignments were required and were was clear. Weekly voice sessions were required and participation was encouraged. Extra credit offered. Midterm and final review sheets were helpful. Exams were not hard but tricky. Recommend the course and this prof.

The online course was an eye opener to drug abuse. Each lecture started with a poem and song about drug abuse, and had a video. The lectures and textbook chapters were easy to understand. Tests were fair and extra credit was offered.

Professor Martin is not a tough grader but he makes you work for your grade. Offers each credit and returns emails quickly. Gives great feedback to your questions. Motivates you to participate and ask questions. Respects your opinions and is accessible to discuss any questions about the course. Would take another course with him.
