Comment:
Marvin was easily one of the worst professors I've ever had. No passion for the film industry or his students. Just seems to be going through the motions. His degree is in law, not film. I was lucky enough to transfer to an actual film school and the change from him to knowledgeable, passionate professors has been wonderful. Would not recommend.

Comment:
Very old fashioned. Does not budge on gradings and tends to expect too much in general. He can be cold, and he can be nice, it just depends on what kind of day it is. His lectures are summaries of the text. Read the book, do the assignments, and watch the mid-term and final exam movie and you should be fine. "Should" be is the key word there.

The dude knows what he is talking about when it comes to screenplay story arch. Sometimes, he gets moody, but so do all good instructors.

He likes to insult you. He treats his class as if we are all stupid. not everyones a storyteller. But we could still be great filmmakers. Writing a bad script is an accomplishment. He expects too much. everyone is afraid of him. Say boo and you flunk

His intent is to weed people out of the program at the begining. Do not take this class unless you are planning on being a film major. "You either get it or you don't."
