Professor Sykes was a great professor. I took him while I was dual-enrolled. Because of high school it was hard to make his office hours. But one time I got to go... I went from making 70s to missing ONE question on his final. He does not let you leave until you understand. He is monotone and has a dry sense of humour but he's great all-around.

Mr. Sykes was is a great professor, he truly knows what he's teaching and teaches each lesson off the top of his head. He is also always available if you need help

Comment:

Dr. Sykes is hands down the best math teacher Ive ever had. I told him during office hours that I dont like algebra cause I don't get it but by paying attention to his lectures I understood. Going to office hours helps! I went from getting 68s to only missing 1 Q on his final. He has a dry sense of humour & id do it all over again. TAKE HIM !!

Comment:

Professor Sykes is funny and teaches Algebra better than most but this class is tricky to succeed in. Grading scale is confusing, getting your homework back and seeing what grade you have is a huge hassle and each test is only 20 questions so if you mess up 2 problems you've just lost a letter grade. I'd take him again but I wish he'd get organized

Just go to class. It is so tempting to skip, but in the end it's going to hurt you. He is probably the best math teacher I have ever had. He teaches the material to where even a child could pass. If you have to take MATH 1413 he is your best bet.

Dr. Sykes is the best algebra professor, hands down. The only thing I didnt like about his class was that he didnt post homework assignments on courseden because if you miss class youre screwed. Other than that, hes funny, super caring/understanding, and its a relatively easy A considering its algebra. Would definitely reccomend for anyone.

Professor Sykes is wonderful. If you ever have to take Survey of Calculus I definitely recommend him. He is knowledgeable in Calculus, which shows during his lectures. I hate math, but he makes it so fun and very easy. Your overall grade is based on four tests, online quizzes, and the final exam. He drops your lowest test and quiz grades.

Dr. Sykes is an AMAZING professor! If you have trouble with math whatsoever he is definitely the professor to take! It gives you reviews that are nearly identical to the tests you will be given. There are four tests and a cumulative final that counts for two test grades and he drops one test grade. There is no homework only quizzes. TAKE HIM!!!

Just come to class. He gives examples during lecture and a handout for extra practice. No homework, only online quizzes every other work. Has a review day for exams and study guides. Funny, sweet, and nice.

By far the best professor I have ever had!!! He is amazing as long as you do your part. If you fail it is your own fault not his. I have the hardest time with math, but I knew it was my fault for not doing better in his class! If you love dry humor then this class is for you ! He's so amazing!!!

Professor Sykes is an awesome math teacher. Yeah, calc is hard but he makes it easier for sure! He is very clear in his lectures and makes sure everyone is on the same page. He will always answer any questions you have in class or after class. He is really easy going and also gives the opportunity to add extra points to every test!

Simple and to the point. Dr. Sykes is very helpful in and out of class. There is not a question to dumb and he will take the time to help each and every student in and out of class. Prof. is concise and very clear with his teaching. Offers lots of extra credit in his test. Highly recommenced good or bad at math. Often releases class early!

He was an amazing teacher if you ask me. The way that he outlines the questions and solutions and the various solving techniques made it easy for me to understand- and I despise mathematics. However, I attribute most of my success to ALEKS homework assignments. They challenged my intellect, to say the least!

Professor Sykes was an amazing Calc professor. He makes everything very easy to understand and gives a quiz (ONLINE) once a week. His tests are pretty much all multiple choice with maybe one or two write in questions. He is normally laid back on test days and if you need to cheat.. you can.. (Mathway) but dont rely on that. Learn the formulas.

Great teacher!!! If you do the work and pay attention you should easily make an A. He explains everything very well and helps his students a lot. His test are easy and his final counts as two grades and he drops your lowest test grade. I would HIGHLY recommend taking him!!!

He made statistics fairly easy. If you came to class and did the problems at the end you would be bonus points after almost every class. Sow homework,but very easy. He does things old school (no course den, won't email, etc) but will help in office. Come to class and you will usually pickup on evrything .

Sykes is such an amazing math professor. He is very monotone, but I have never understood math so well in my life. I would definitely take him again for another math class. Only down side is MyMathLab which is the website that he uses for quizzes. The website sucks and you have to exact with everything.

Dr Sykes is awesome! He makes Stats somewhat interesting, and is always there to help. You will most likely get out of class early. He gives daily, in class extra credit so make sure you go to class. Tests can be tough depending on how well you understood the material. He will tell dad jokes, and is slighly monotone. Really, cool guy.
