Comment:

We worked in groups all semester but he let us choose which was nice. There were quite a few hands on activities this semester which were helpful to learn the material. He takes the time to make sure everyone understands the material and his tests are similar to the activities that we do as a class.

Comment:

Great prof, easy class. You work in groups of 4 all semester and he changes them 3 times. You're really working with each other to learn the content - some people hated that, I didn't mind it... that's what you'll be doing in the field. Homework and quizzes are easy - he lets you redo them for more credit. 3 exams including the final. Take him!

If you show up to each lecture the class will be an easy A for sure. He is a great professor and makes sure everyone understands before moving on to the next thing. I would take another class with this professor for sure!

Honestly I should have passed with a B but I slacked off and got a C. He's really good at teaching, you just have to show up and pay good attention. Get help from him if you need it, he'll be happy to help.

Professor Dekker makes taking calculus not scary at all. He teaches out of a manual which is very organized, and clear. He's really funny and a really nice person! The tests are always fair- there are never surprises. If you have the chance to ask him about his degree in Topolgy, do so, it's interesting!

I had Dekker for calc and he was fantastic. Lectures were somewhat boring but he did his best to make an extremely boring subject interesting. This class will be a breeze for those who have had calc before. Highly recommend him!v

Really passionate about math, great respected teacher who knows what he's talking about. Easily accessible outside of class. Online homework can be a little heavy but if you don't procrastinate you'll be fine. Quizzes and tests aren't hard as long as you're up with homework.

Dekker is an amazing professor. He really knows calculus and is willing to help. He writes his tests super well and makes them totally fair by only asking things we truly went over and also he makes most of the answers come out to be whole numbers. There was never any surprises on his exams! Wonderful class and amazing professor!

He was my absolute favorite Math teacher so far at Ferris! Clear, understanding, easy to contact, friendly, but most of all, respectful to his students. I learned so much with Prof. Dekker, I was challenged but not overwhelmed. I recommend him over any other professor at Ferris!

Dr. Dekker is by far the best professor I've ever had. I went into Calculus I hating math, and I ended up loving the class. Fair and straightforward tests. Minimal homework problems.

Mr. Dekker is amazing! Best teacher at Feris. He taught everything you could possibly need to know in a clear and easy to understand way! He is also very understanding and let's you make up anything you miss. Gives his own notes that we work through in groups. He also answers all questions and emails right away.

Love this man! He made everything that we learned so crystal and it did not seem like we had been in there for 14 weeks. Cares about how you do and explains anything you want further instruction on. Has group projects which is useful!

He made it easy to learn. Granted this was a refresher for me, but with the group work and how he lectured it was easy to learn from him. I still can remember the song he sang..."sine, cosine, cosine, sine; cosine, cosine, sign, sine, sine". HaHa

Professor Dekker is a very good professor. He teaches with clarity. He uses multiple teaching methods such as groups, notes, textbook, and himself. He has a genuine interest in all students and he seems to love his job. He gives handouts that are very similar to what you will be assessed on so there is no guessing. Excellent instructor!
